I've also got a monitor to it's right which will block reaching from the side, but it'll be fine for me, though I have mine on a mounting arm and pretty close to me so I am not reaching that far.
I saw this offer on my blue cash card it doesn't have an annual fee but the offers vary between cards and users. Sometimes two people with the same card will have different offers

You can read over 400 comments from last year regarding this monitor in Deal Talk (if anyone's interested):
27" Dell S2721DGF 1440p 165Hz FreeSync IPS Monitor - $365.50 EXPIRED
I ended up using a $100 MyBestBuy certificate to bring the cost down to $329. Another good thing about using these certificates is that you also end up paying less tax in the process.
Now on hold with Dell support. Bummer, was looking forward to using this monitor.

The build quality is impressive. I've never bought an expensive monitor prior to this, so most of my monitors have been like Acers etc. These Dells feel really sturdy with little flex. The knob control on the back is much better than normal button presses on other monitors.
It isn't quite as plug n play friendly due to the high refresh rate I think. I have had issues with it recognizing my PC sometimes and turning on, but I also tend to switch configurations often since my PC is also hooked to my 4k projector (3 screens total), which makes my GPU freak out sometimes depending whether i mirror or extend.
Highly recommend it for gamers, but for most normal movie viewing/surfing/productivity, you'll probably just want a good 4K60hz monitor with better contrast.
the M27Q is still $100 cheaper, which is pretty significant considering they appear to have nearly identical specs (the M27Q can push 170hz, maybe this one can as well?). I'm less interested in what's popular and more interested in determining if the $100 premium is actually worth it to me, and I imagine other people (aside from the person who downvoted me for simply posing the question) feel similarly.
In your opinion, which specifications justify the additional $100 for the Dell? I'm not trying to sway anybody's opinion; I'm trying to determine if I'm simply missing something obvious.
I bought the M27Q and promptly returned it because of the bgr pixel layout. Text is bad even after messing around with cleartype. You'll never see me buy a product just because of the hype but there is a reason why this one is so popular.
I just A/B'd my Dell and M27Q, and you're right--when my eyes are only 3 inches away from the display, I can definitely tell the difference. Having said that, it's not a $100+ difference--especially considering its intended use case is for gaming.
People with money to burn will disagree, and that's okay. But this website is called "slickdeals" for a reason, and it's not because the userbase is primarily made up of childless yuppie millennials with too much expendable income.
It's obviously a nice display, but--at least for now--it's simply overpriced compared to the competition (of which the M27Q is just one example).

Here's how'd I justify getting this. Although these monitors are advertised for gaming, I'm not just only going to game on it. I will watch movies, browse youtube, do a little content creating. To only spend an extra $100(on the numerous little upgrades like the stand or the better nano-ips panel) and not an exorbitant amount on what many will agree to be the best in this category is worth it to me. I'm already throwing down a good 3/4 chunk of the cash, if it means I won't order takeout for the next three opportunities for a monitor with no compromises that I will enjoy for the next half a decade, fine. At the end of the day, to each his own.

I received the S2721DGF yesterday, and it's excellent for gaming so far. I set it to 165hz and was able to get 165+ fps in Overwatch, and I don't know if I was just getting lucky or if opponents were experiencing lag or what, but I felt like I had an unfair advantage in my ability to react quickly. This is my first >60Hz LCD, and the higher refresh rate in gaming is very subtle to me; like it wasn't a huge night-and-day difference that I noticed immediately, but I played better than usual, which I wasn't expecting.
For work (software dev), it's good enough, but I feel like it is a downgrade from my 10 yr old Dell U3011 which I now have in portrait mode (which as a 16:10, it's great for, but it's also great landscape-mode main monitor for productivity). I guess I need to give this setup some time. Even the U3011 took some adjustment when I first got it.
I'm likely going to keep this monitor, but I'm not sure it'll be my main/center monitor. I may have to get creative with my mounting arms and desk arrangement and make the S2721DGF my side monitor by day, and center monitor by night, though that's not ideal.
I think the one you're thinking about has a TN panel. This has an IPS panel.

However, you can definitely notice after using this one a bit then going back to 60hz. Still not drastic, but noticeable.
If I only had 1 monitor for everything, I'd probably get the 4k 32" Dell for the higher contrast ratio, which is much more noticeable for image quality. Plus 1440p a lot of times is kinda a weird un-optimized resolution for DLSS. Most of the time DLSS doesn't look better or give noticeable FPS boost (tried on Shadow of Tomb Raider, Monster Hunter World, Cyberpunk). I think it's because it usually renders at 1440 to upscale to 4k, but 1080 to 1440 introduces a lot of fuzziness for some reason.
I imagine these high refresh rates are much better for quick-reaction type games like FPS, but I tend to play more adventure/RPG types.
Playing with DLSS and a consistent 4k60fps is still an amazing gaming experience.
