For what it's worth, the factory refurbished NC700's were available for $225 direct from Bose on eBay. I purchased them a few weeks ago. They came in like new condition with no blemishes that I could tell.
The microphones work great, and I think most all of the video reviews rank them as tops for calls. The sound/music side is not as strong as the Sony XM3 and XM4; the NC700 is light on the low frequencies.
There is an annoying standing bug with the Bose App and some combination of phone and other apps. It's been around for over a year and through multiple firmware updates. What happens is you connect the headphones, there's a loud buzz, and then the headphones reboot, reconnect, buzz, reboot, reconnect. This happens continuously, causing the headphones to be unusable.
If you check the Bose community boards, you'll find more than a few threads around this issue. Here's one.

I managed to keep the problem at bay by uninstalling the Bose app from my phone.
Aside from that issue, they work great for zoom and other calls.

Do you remember the seller on eBay when you purchased the used 700's?
