This product has a known flaw where the subwoofer emits a rumbling "wind" noise [reddit.com] noticeable at low volumes. The issue was reported at least 5 months ago and Vizio has done nothing to fix it. All units seem to be affected including recent purchases from Costco; many people likely just don't notice it.
Note to TCL ROKU TV owners
If you experience frequent sound delays that require you to power cycle the sound bar, disconnecting the sound bar from your wifi network (keeping it offline) should fix the issue.

Anyone use this with the sound bar and two speakers placed right under the TV?
Does this distort anything? Or does it sound better than just using the sound bar without the rears?

It's loud. The sub is surprisingly effective for how small it is. Surround sound is great. It's a good entry level unit.
Aside from the sound cut out that has been addressed with firmware, it also has a flaw where the sub is constantly making noise. It's fine during really loud stuff, but during dialogue, it's infuriating. My girlfriend was the first to notice it - just sounds like a gentle rain all the time when the source volume is low. It's not a frequency response issue. It can't be unheard once you pick up on it. Reddit said to turn down the sub volume, which stinks, and I did and to put the unit in "Video Game" on the EQ. This mostly takes care of the issue, but it sure would be nice to be able to crank the sub and to put it in the intended equalization/effects mode that was intended for the source.
It's a good value if you aren't sensitive with the above, but the issue does kind of kill it.
