Please Note: Although this is specifically designed for APS-C Sony E-mount cameras, it can be used for Full Frame Sony E-Mount cameras, preferably in Crop-Mode. However, for Full Frame, there are better options.

You can use it on full frame, but in crop mode. You wouldn't buy this lens for full frame.

considering this to go with A7riV to get 24-105F2.8 - for $699, very tempting.

You won't get F2.8. The crop factor also applies to aperture size.

From what I've read you want something around 100 otherwise your macro photos are harder since you'll cast shadows more easily and require better placement of etc. 100 would make it easier to avoid this

Not entirely true, it applies to DOF, but the aperture I.e. light gathering capability still should stay at F2.8
