damn i wish this was the one with the wifi, would have bought it.
I own one plus the WiFi bridge.

Yes, the battery's can last a year on normal use, I recommend using lithium AA's to speed the lock motor up a bit.

You get a set of 5 physical keys, they are a high security design and cannot be duplicated normally. Also the unit has a microUSB port on the outside as well so you can power it on that way if your batteries die and don't have a key.
Why 'risk' living in a house with windows? Probably because the perceived benefit outweighs the remote risk. Just like I'm guessing your house remains far more likely to be broken into the old fashioned way before anyone hacks your smart lock.

I doubt it as it looks very different from traditional keys.

Does anyone know if the key that comes with the lock can be used for other doors as well? IE: Can I get the garage door rekeyed to use the key that comes with the Eufy lock?

I understand using wifi or Bluetooth so you dont have to unlock the door with a key when your hands are full or wifi when you are almost home.

Using a finger print reader is no better than a key when your hands are full.

Huh? Still much easier. Just lift a finger.

I'm replacing my father's door lock with a smart one because as he gets older inserting and turning a key is becoming more difficult. There is also the extra safety that if something happens and a neighbor calls me asking to get into his place for any reason (like he needs help or the water pipe that broke a few weeks ago while he was out), I can unlock the door for them immediately. Since my dad's hands shake I'm not sure if the fingerprint or keypad is a better option for him.

Can this lock be set up to unlock when you come near it with your phone?

I find things like this odd.

I love tech, so I want to want it.

Love the idea of seeing technology on my door, but is using a key really a hassle to anyone?

How long battery last ? My schlage smart lock battery last about a month. Kinda annoying we have to keep replacing 4x AA batteries.

Rechargeable ones great to have on hand.

I bought this around Christmas but it was too big to fit with the lock used for the hurricane door. It's really nice looking but I ended up with a different and possibly better lock...if you want a lock that does it all check out the U-Bolt. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VXZ8...UTF8&psc=1

It is when you have kids and groceries.. saving a few seconds to open and close the door would be worth it.

Absolutely! You are paying a bit more but you get a lot more than holding the bag on old tech, with lack of software updates ( there is a reason for this going on sale Smilie

- comes with 2 pcs of 10000 mAh li rechargeable batteries
- reliable wifi connection
- faster unlock speeds
- smart home integration
- potentially faster software updates too

I can't count how many times I have gone outside to do something on the property, wife locks the door behind me not knowing I am outside....I go out a lot, I don't bring keys .... I run and don't bring a key.....so the Keypad is essential, and the fingerprint pad makes it just that much easier. The real comparison is keypad vs. fingerprint .... and once you start using fingerprint you will dread having to punch in a code on a keypad.

Why would you risk having a smart lock on your door? Seriously this makes no sense.

Because a lock only keeps honest people out. If someone wants to take the time to 'hack' my lock, why wouldn't they just break a window to get in.

It's plenty reliable, and worth the convenance. Especially to make temp codes for guests and family.
