In theory this could make sense. You combine this with the BOGO line offer and add two lines, pay one of them for 3 months and then cancel both and you get 2 iPhone 11 for half price.

But since I added a free line in December I cannot make changes for 12 months to not jeopardize the "old" free line from December, so I would have to keep these 2 added lines (one free one paid) until January. That monthly rate will eat into the discount since not needed/used.

It says in the wiki 40 days to unlock so sounds like 2 months of service needed.

2 lines of the "Essentials" is $45/month/line or $90 total plus tax. So unless I'm mistaken you need to add $180 to unlock the 2 phones.

I check for a month now with Tmobile.com and they require trade in and as of today they still require trade in. But if you buy the less expensive or lower end phones then no trade ins.

They had a limited deal earlier last week, keep checking on T-Mobile's website is all I can advise
