I think this is only for electric baseboard heating and similar. Not HVAC

"This thermostat is designed to control an electric heating system such as abaseboard heater, a radiant ceiling, a convector or a fan-forced heater. The thermostat CANNOT be used with:• a resistive load under 1.25 A• a resistive load over 12.5 A• a system driven by a contactor or a relay (inductive load)• a central heating system"

Looks like a pretty solid price. I can't seem to find much info about this model online though, aside from a bunch of eBay listings, looks like it averages $30-$35 new. I'm just glad it doesn't use a C-wire, those are a pain to deal with.

Amazon has it for $31.88 New

I've never replaced a thermostat before. Are these compatible with most HVAC systems (analagous to a doorbell)? I don't have a Honeywell system.

No... this is a two wire system for baseboard, infrared, etc. heat only.... Here is the user manual [manualslib.com]....

I don't like how the cover slides down. I got a loose cover on one of my units and gravity always drags it down to leave a slight gap. It's hard on my ADD. But for the price this is a great deal!

Would this be ok for 'line voltage'? My thermostat is currently 2 thick black/white wires using an old school analog Honeywell. Sounds like a spring going boinggggg when temp is reached.

Make sure you get the version, with double AA batteries. AAA doesn't long.

It must be the "Kardashian" model.

I have a Honeywell too. It doesn't have any features that stand out but I hardly ever need to touch it.

It doesn't suck. It's just plain no frills.

Honeywell thermostats that I looked at didn't have a span setting to reduce the amount of temperature swing before cycling. Even my old cheap one had that feature. I went with an Ecobee for my new thermostat.
