This particular model has no networking of any kind built in -- just a USB connection.
A $10-$15 raspberry pi zero could be used to add wireless connectivity.

3rd party toner costs next to nothing and have never had a single issue with it. I swear it is going to outlive me at this rate.
I got a couple of these new for $50 or $60 at Best Buy back in summer 2017. They work like champs & still going strong with no issues whatsoever.

Having printed regularly for a year now, the toner cartridge on my machine is at only 60%. It's not hard to find toner for this machine, either.
Keep in mind that this printer will only recognize a 2.4 GHz network. You'll have to have a dual-band router and make a separate 2.4 GHz network just for printing if you want 5 GHz normally.
Brother machines can also be contacted by using the Brother iPrint&Scan app, just in case something goes wrong with your WiFi connection and you can't print from your PC. It's helped out in a pinch on the rare occasion.

Love this printer and need another.
Are they "refurb" as in new but sold as "refurb" (happens all the time BTW) or
are they "refurb" in the true sense, as in failed and returned by purchaser?

I'd like to get rid of my old inkjet printer but I use the scanner pretty often and don't have room for 2 separate devices on my desk.

And I suppose we are paying a premium due to supply shortages. This printer in new condition was cheap as 40$
