I cant recommend these Brother Laser Printers enough! I have had mine (HL-2280DW) for eight years now and it still runs like a champ.

3rd party toner costs next to nothing and have never had a single issue with it. I swear it is going to outlive me at this rate.

Yeah this is only wired. It's the DW that's WiFi.

I got a couple of these new for $50 or $60 at Best Buy back in summer 2017. They work like champs & still going strong with no issues whatsoever.

From everything I can find, this model appears to be wired only. Are you sure that this works with 2.4 GHz?

The new scam is to build printers with separate drum and ink toner - it appears that this unit is of that type. The toner is relatively cheap, but you will need to buy a new drum after about 5 toner cartridges (according to Amazon Q/A).

A new drum is $90. Brother-Genuine-DR630

I have the exact same one and agree 100%. Brother Laser printers are awesome and sip cheap toner. My only gripe was the lack of AirPrint support, but it is an old model so I'll give it a pass, and was able to run a proxy to get it working so I didn't need to use the app.

Brother lasers are awesome...highly recommend. This is a good basic unit. No wifi or scanning, but most people don't need that.

Buy 3rd party toner on Amazon.

Why would you buy the Brother drum? You can buy 3rd party drums for $20-$30. And mine lasted about 10 toners.

I dont get why people were paying $300ish for some Canon printers that have to be used with OEM toners only, if you can print on Brother printers endlessly with little to no cost.

Availability of cheap 3rd party toners should me the main factor when you look for printers. Learned it the hard way with HP when its cartridges were more expensive than the printer itself

I've been using 3rd party ebay drums and toner on this model for over a year with no problems. I know it is hit or miss on some brother printers, but this one seems to be ok.

have the older model of this with no ethernet so I hooked it up to my NAS directly.
been running for over a decade, albeit not used very often. I believe I'm still on the original toner with multiple hundreds of pages printed.

I agree these printers HL or DW models are my favorite printers. Cheap on ink and fast prints.
