The smaller Walmart Neighborhood stores count as grocery stores. The large Big Box stores do not.
www.doctorofcredit.com has all the faqs:

1. Cap1 allows only 2 personal cards & 2 business cards (but a few have extra grandfathered in) & co-branded cards do not count

2. Cap1 pulls from ALL 3 bureaus at each time for each application (3 pulls per application & averages them out!)

3. need at least 720-740+ mininum FICO according to data points from last several years (but other factors such as too high balances or too many inquiries in past year can cause rejection).. do not know of this year's mininum
so if you are APPROVED; please list your FICO score that got approved
&
how many new cards you got in the past 2 years because there is rumor that Savor cards have a 5/24 rule similar to Chase (ie; must be under 5 new credit card accounts in past 24 months)
Signed up previously with the $250 offer and was instantly approved. After receiving the card and using it for a week, they restricted my card because they had to verify my income. I had to e-sign an IRS form 4506-T for them to check my 2019 tax Return. After that, it took two weeks for them to verify and remove the restriction. They seem so strict compared to other credit card companies @.@

I applied for this card when it was 300.00 back. I was thinking oh even with the 99.00 annual fee Imma get paid for all my multiple times a month at Disney as that counts as entertainment at 4% back. Yeah the only thing we get back 4% is at Disney restaurants. Nothing else counts. Not passes, merchandise, tours, etc. When I called about why it didn't count they blamed Disney saying they just categorize everything wrong so that's on them. When I tried to drop to the no annual fee version they refused. They said all I could do was change to a airline miles card with annual fee or cancel the card all together thus taking a hit to my credit. Yes, I got the 300.00 credit. Yes our eating out pays for the annual fee but with my no annual fee cards I get to keep that money not use it to pay a annual fee. We have yet to find any entertainment this counts at 4% except through Ticketmaster type sites. Capital One blames it all on the vendors category choices. I earned just over 4,000.00 back on my no annual fee cards this year as we charge everything and pay it off each month so there are definitely way better cards with zero fees out there. Look beyond the one time cash back incentive.

Potentially being black listed, hard inquiry on your record etc

I've done several of these bonuses with many different companies over the years with very minimal consequences provided that I don't actually close the account myself. Sometimes, they'll close it for you due to a long duration of inactivity, in which case you can signup for the next bonus in about 90 days. Although I've only purposely closed one account with a bank, I still retain a 800+ credit score.

I've heard many bad things if you actually do intend to close the account yourself within a short time frame for whatever reason like lower credit score, etc.

Unless you're a professional homeless or something, I don't advise this kind of behavior for normal people who have family and kidz to feed . . . so you can keep your credit score up and be able to qualify for a mortgage whenever you need it.

does Capital One have a limit on how many of their own credit card that you can have?

I already have two other cards from them... just wondering if applying for a third one will be accepted?

also.... does Capital One consider Walmart and Target to be "grocery stores" for the cash back purpose? lately, I buy my groceries from those two places only.(milk, bread, eggs, cereals, vegetables, etc)

I have 3 cards with them including this one

Thanks for the soliloquy but that has absolutely nothing to do with this card cause there is NO annual fee on it.

"LOL" so if someone offers you $200 for basically filling out a 1 minute application, that's not a deal? Ok... "LOL"

There's Savor and Savor One. If you frequent restaurants (the good ones not fast food LOL) you want the Savor. I easily cover the annual fee before end of January.

Is paying a utility bill like cable or electric considered a purchase towards the $500 spent?
