TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.
To accomplish it, you would need to:
1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.
This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

the watch line would stay the same but you won't pay taxes on it any longer in case you do now (because you would be on a taxes and fees included plan).
Will this stack with those?

Wondering the same. CalmSoda260, can the free lines be used on things like tablets or smart watches?
Standard behavior for a voice SIM in a tablet is that it will suffocate itself into 3G speeds at best. So, you may keep unlimited data, but it's it's not going to be fast.
How did you get it done if anyone can share please?
Assumed you were on 2 lines with auto pay $60 total and got 3rd line for free and stay in $60 total...
Thanks
I see that I have 11 lines in my family (5 are free from various promos) so I can still add the last i.e. 12th line (T-Mo One plan)!
What could be better than adding the last line as the free line in the family...? ;-)
