If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

The poster said: (Customers must not already be at their rate plan's maximum number of lines)

I have magenta plus/Max with 12 active lines now my account could technically have 3 more lines but with $100 deposit, is that mean my account has already maximum lines or I would be fine adding more line and pay the deposit?

This is an opportunity for Tmobile to extend your contracts and/or change your plans. I left Verizon for Tmobile bc I thought Verizon was bad with billing. Tmobile is far worse. I have 4 months left of my contract. When it's finally over, I'm going back to Verizon, the lesser of 2 evils.

Hello. I have Essentials Plan that includes 4 lines and I added a 5th line 2 years ago. Can I get the free line and cancel the 5th line after or will that void the free line? Thanks.

I've been with Tmobile for over 12 years and have never been on a contract. I have 5 lines with one being free.

Need some help understanding the following scenario:
My family plan is eligible for the add a free new line offer. I have a friend on another t-mobile family plan. Can he switch to my family plan for this free new line offer keeping his same existing phone number (port his number to my plan and get a free line)?
Appreciate any advice here.

I just got the free line added and was able to stack the 50% off on google pixel 4a 5g when you add a new line. Got the pixel 4a 5g for 175and taxes.
Be careful, I did the last 2 campaigns for a free line and pixel 4a 5G phones. I'm receiving bill credits to make one free from from the port in / add a line. I also did the promo for add a line and half off pixel 4a 5G. Both reps told me the promo stacks. 2 months later Ive been charged over $30 each line plus tax. I'm currently on a grandfathered simple choice plan. It's a pain having to contact them to manually make lines free because system is not automatically doing it. If they say it will work, MAKE SURE THEY NOTATE THE ACCOUNT...

Does anyone know how long after adding a line, we can take advantage of a phone deal? I want to see if there's any deal on the new OnePlus phones that should be announced next week, but also don't want to wait too long to add the free line just in case they stop the promotion soon

Tmobile promised me free line, when I already had 2 free lines with 2 paid. I ended up paying for 5th line. In short I have 2 free, 3 paid lines when I was promised 2 paid, 3 free.
If you have that documented, you need to discuss it with customer service. I've had a problem with every free line, but customer service has always fixed it for me.

I followed the instructions of how to find the SOC, but mine screen did not have "manageaccount" on the list; it had "account" from the list, but nothing was there that could match the instructions. Can someone please help. Thanks

Edited: I had to click on "Change my plan" in order to see manageaccount

All the free phones are after lengthy 24 months credit. Good if you're sticking with them; not for jumpers
