If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

If I'm not a tmobile customer and I'm porting from ATT the only options are either Essential, Magenta and , Magenta Max. Correct? Porting 2 lines should add a 3rd free and I qualify for two Iphone SE. Is there something I'm missing?
Thank you

So is everyone calling in, chatting, or using the app to add the free line? Thanks
Interestingly, despite 2 agents before telling me I can add up to 12 lines the system now tells me it's time for an upgrade when trying to do self checkout for the line. I guess I will have to chat with someone later and document everything. We don't want any plan changes, no Magenta. Too many good promos on the account with One.

Apparently some of the older plans are available in the system for skilled agents, but you will need to find an agent willing to add you on on of those prior plans and who knows how to do that. By default you will only get the latest plan on the website.

It also means ideally you already really know which prior plan and SOC code you would want.

Amplified SOC code is there in the list though, did you call them to confirm this?
Adding a new line from website shows 30$ monthly charges.

Was able to grab this today with my old Tmobile One plan.
Had to have the chat support up my plan to the grandfathered 9+ lines account though to add it since it kept trying to make me upgrade my plan to Magenta.
Once they did that, I was able to add the line for 30 a month and will get a 30 a month bill credit.
Another great share, thanks for the line guys Smilie
I now have 3 on the account to use when needed -

Also I did it from the website - under shop -> add a line.
Did not have to pay for the sim or shipping, paid nothing.

From your old ATT or Verizon line, apparently Sprint lines work as well as their system is still separate.

I am an existing customer on T-mobile One (SOC is FRLTULF2). I currently have 4 paid lines, and 4 free lines.

My most recent lines were added on 3/14.
I signed up for the recent T-mobile "BOGO free" lines at Costco.
I also stacked the $300 Costco cash card promo on each of the two new lines.

I was told by T-Force at that time that I can cancel both recently added lines (the most recent paid and free line) after I receive the Costco cash cards if I wish, which would be about 4 months from now.

However, if I add the new free line today from this promo to my account, is it true that I could no longer cancel the paid and free line in 4 months as planned that I added at Costco, and still keep this free line? Is that correct?

And by adding this new free line today, is it true that I would now have to wait one year before I could cancel a paid line from my account? Is that also correct?

Okay I just read every single comment in the thread and have some questions?

1. Is it possible for a new customer to qualify for this deal? If not what is the best way for a new customer to start getting these deals?

2. Is the free line plan (Essential, Magenta, Magenta Max) the same as the paid plan?

3. Will upgrading the paid plan from a lower tier to a higher tier later on also upgrade the free line?

4. How often do these deals occur?

5. What is the Costco T-Mobile plan people keep talking about?

I have 5 lines with Cricket (8GB) for $100 but I'm wanting to ditch them cause of bad customer support. Is there a way to get the same type of price with T-Mobile?
