If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.

My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.

YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

It will be a total of $175, but it's on a 24 month plan. Each month I pay $7.30 for the phone for 2 years until it hits $175.
Aah gotcha. I probably should have gone with that, but went with the free IPhone SE. Thanks.

For the people who said the Free Line + Pixel 4a 5g $175 promo doesn't stack, here is my convo with T-Force. I already have the order processed. If they ask about the $30 cover charge for sim/activation, just act stupid as hell and pretend you didn't know about that fee, they waived it for me.

I have TM1TI2, so should be eligible. Have a free line from like 3 yrs ago, along with a free DIGITS line. I haven't done any free anything since.

Logic tells me I just log in as OP says and click through "bring your own phone." I am doing that now and am at checkout.

No indication at all of anything free, says $20/mo extra for the new line.

So, is it just free without any verbiage? You just add it and pay taxes only going forward? Am I doing this right?

Yeah I was torn between those 2 also. Ended up with A11. Win win either way!
Did you have to port in a number to get any of the free phones?

Has anybody bought a number off eBay to port? If so, which one worked?

I am in a similar situation, but went ahead and added the free line today. The account total didn't change and the new free line promotion (2021 Line on Us 6 (Additional Lines)) got applied to the account.
Same, but I don't want to take risk.
Did you do online?

Tmobile promised me free line, when I already had 2 free lines with 2 paid. I ended up paying for 5th line. In short I have 2 free, 3 paid lines when I was promised 2 paid, 3 free.
I had same issue but contacted customer service via app and they fixed...it took 2 months to fix it...but eventually they did. I recommend you do the same

I have SOC SCFUTT6. When I add a line/person, my monthly cost shows as $25/month - unlike for you it shows as $20/month
