If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

So if I have 4 lines on my eligible plan, if I add free lines now, pay the taxes and stuff for 1 year then can I cancel the paid lines and move the existing 'paid' numbers over to the free lines, therefore only having to pay for 2/4 lines on the account?
Yes, as long as you have 2 paid lines

You should be able to swap SIMs with another phone on the same account. You can just confirm it with CS just to make sure that the bill credits are not messed up. Otherwise, there is nothing enforced to keep the phone (IMEI) / SIM (ICCID) paired.
thanks, I appreciate the info.

Can you walkthrough how this boost mobile number work. Like you just get a number with no service?
You buy the number from eBay, the seller sends you the info, in my case it was the following

Phone number
PIN
Account number

It's all they needed for port in to go through, no name or address. Most of the eBay sellers though are banned or flagged, so probably matter of time before the rest are too.

That's what it will show as it's a monthly credit on the account.

So are you saying I should go ahead with $15/mo ? and I will get credit ? will the online process show any confirmation that I am enrolling in this free plan. I went all the way to check out but does not say anywhere that I am enrolling in this promotion or I will receive credit..

I had a new line added today . They said it will be 10.70 for the sim+tax. I said them to please waive it off for me , and they replied that for receiving the new sim we cannot waive of the 10.70 , but if you pay it now we will give you 10.70 credit on your account Smilie

One of the reps I dealt with said boost isn't eligible

Whoa what do you mean by banned or flagged? Like the numbers they provide would be rejected by Tmobile or are you saying these sellers are not allowed to do that on ebay and would get banned eventually? Would Tmobile blacklist the number if they accept the port in?
