If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

Just curious what you all do with all free lines? I am on simple choice plan and it charges $4.10 per month as Tax. I am not using that free line. I have only one free line. So it is not completely free. Is everyone getting charged tax on free line or any exceptions?
Pimp..I give each girl that works for me a phone for her security

it's pretty simple for me. i am on a 5 people tmo plan. my wife was on verizon so i brought her over to the 5 person tmo plan (now 6 people). it costs nothing to add her and she gets an iphone 12 for free, works out for us!

so i added a line for free and went for the iphone 12 on us promo.

they said the way the 830 breaks down is $170 is a bill credit and the 660 is split across 24 months.

is there anyway to have the $170 apply to the phone and not the total bill? i ask because i split the bill with others and it would make it a lot easier if i could adjust the bill credit to the phone directly.
That can only be done via trade in at store. They can apply the whole amount $830 towards the bill credit 24 months.
They are both bill credits. $170 is just given in advance

I think this is because they change from the - $20 off Add A Line to $30 off Add A Line when they were moved to the 9-12 line plan. But the price per line hasn't change so that's why their prices went down. IE if you have plan includes 4 free lines at $20 discount each and move to 4 free lines at $30 discount each then your bill will drop by $40.
My bill went the same way. Drop nearly half from a over $100
With Insider Hookup and Kickback that works on all my lines I am currently only paying for cost of Netflix.
I think eventually they will fix that billing error. I hope they just leave my Kickback alone.
I have Tmobile One with Plus promo (FRLTUL4LP t-mobile SOC code) and 7 lines with 3 being no cost. I can do 1 more before needing to change to a different soc code but of course leary since I have kickback on all lines(kb shows on bills for free lines but doesn't actually reduce bill), hookup, and other promos.

Now I am intrigued to do this add a line as people are saying once you get over 8 lines the bill gets reduced? Anyone upgrade to soc that allows more lines without major errors requiring hours to fix with tmobile reps?

All - I just got the deal via speaking to TForce agent on the mobile app and can confirm the following:

1. Line is absolutely FREE. Does not include any additional monthly bill taxes.

2. iPhone SE promo is absolutely FREE. There is currently two offers for the SE, one of which is FREE and the other 50% off. Speak to a live agent and get it for FREE. If you purchase it with directly from the site, it will only reflect 50% off. The rep originally said it did not stack, but keep pressing. I litterally used slick deals and reddit as proof. Show the screen shots of users stacking both promos if needed. He eventually got it confirmed by whoever was above him.

3. Google Voice Port-In is allowed! I repeat, it is allowed.

All I had to pay was $30, which was the tax on the phone. I'll will have to pay $3 later to unlock number from GVoicr prior to porting. This will be done when the phone arrives.

I confirmed every single detail in the above and have everything in writing.

Good luck.
You can port in google voice, but you might not get the credit for free iPhone SE

if the store doesn't have the phone i want and they have to order it - can they still apply it to the phone? or no since they are ordering the phone and arent taking my phone that moment?

I am fairly certain that the phone will have to be in stock for the trade in process to occur in store.

My acct is totally scorched earth right now (I don't see line by line charges like I usually do) and it shows a $310 monthly charge (normally it's $185 before kickbacks). But the rep said to expect that and that she'd call back in two days to resolve tthe prorations.

Looking line by line, I see kickback is still on the six usual lines, as is One Plus Promo.

The 9th line doesn't show yet bexause the sim has not shipped. When it does arrive, I plan to call them to do the iPhone SE deal and port in a number from Ooma.

Here's my cost breakdown for those who would find it helpful.

$120 - cost for first two lines. Fixed to the plan.
$80 - cost for next four additional lines.
$0 - last two lines from AAL promos in 2020
$20 discount (BOGO from 2017)
$7 - Netflix
$0.75 - pixel 4a5g EIP

So normal charge is $167.75. Typically five of the lines get kickback discount.. So that knocks it down to $142.75. (it's only $5 off for one of the lines because it doesn't stack perfectly with the BOGO)
Be patient. I changed SOC last free line. Best thing I ever did. Takes an overnight for stuff to reapply. If there is something missing tomorrow then contact T-Mobile in the app.

There is a good chance that major errors will occur. I went through that a few times already. To the defense of the agents I don't think its their fault.

Last time I was chat with them to do the account change in real time. They assured me nothing will change and I will be getting a new line free. One minute later I receive text that all my lines promos have changed/dropped. I inform them. They seem embarrassed and baffled as how this could have happen and was very apologetic. I don't think they know what changes are made as the system will just spit out what it wants to after you hit upgrade.

If I were you I would take a screenshot of all you individual lines and promos they have before you talk to them.

T-Mobile is THE Best!!! Love this Company! I was getting 100-250Mbps driving around rural Montana today on TMO 5G. Tweedledee & Tweedledum will probably take until 2035 to get their 5G here.

First, I am not that guy who said he has $100 for 6 lines but this is how it works:

1st step, you will need some form of a 20% discount promo which they call it a Hookup or F&F or whatever. Without the 20% code, you won't get it below $100.

2nd step, make sure you add your 2nd line in combination with a promo in the form of a "3rd line on us".

I have regular Magenta, pay $96 per month, 7 lines.

Line1: Paid (with autopay) = $70
Line2: Paid (with autopay) +$50 = $120 (apply Hookup/F&F 20% disc = $96/mo taxes all in)
Line3: Free (19 Dec 3rd Line On Us) +$0
Line4: Free 2020 LOU (June?)
Line5: Free 2020 LOU 2 (Sept)
Line6: Free 2020 LOU 3 (forgot)
Line7: Free 2020 LOU 4 (Dec)
Line8: This current promo - I think they may code it as 2021 LOU xx?. And, I haven't signed up just yet...
Line9: future date
Line10: future date
Line11: future date
Line12: Last one, max of 12 lines on regular Magenta.

The better part of playing this deal, is to "Stack" on top with Costco "trade-in" phone deal credits AND Costco cash cards for lines. When I did this, I ported in from AT&T and I stacked 3 "trade-ins" - old iPhone SE, iPhone 6s and iPhone 8 for 2 iPhone 11 Pros and a BYOD.

It's all about timing, and reading the fine print.

The people here are not bragging. It's just a difficult deal to play, and hard to explain it all in a few words....

Quote from Deal2go :
Everyone is boasting, bragging about how many "free lines" they have added with these free add a line promo for existing customers but not saying what exactly their plan is or how much they are paying. Some say they have so far added 4 free lines with these promos. One guy said he now has 6 lines for $100. is this true?

In my situation, I am stuck with a grand fathered promo called TMO ONE ALL IN PROMO and it is 3 lines total for $100 including kickback, tax and fees. I am never eligible for any free add a line promo even after talking to supervisors and the only plan they can switch me to meganta max plan 4 lines for $180.
