If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

He will be at $96 for 8 lines magenta or $112 for 8 lines Max and 40gb hotspot per line

And do You do realize that once the guy you replied to adds this promo, and one more line, even a paid line, and switches to magenta 9 line his monthly bill will be only $66 for all those 9 lines. . or $88 if he chooses to upgrade to Max an 40gb hotspot per line?
idon't know how much time you spend in mexico or canada. . .but for me last 10 years average only 2 days or s a year. i would rather bank $56 a month more and have the extra lines to save my folks $70 every month plus my single brother $56 a month.
This is the part I wonder about. When I use th compare plan tool from the account and select Max to compare it to, the price "including all promos and discounts" jumps $300 per month!!! How can we be confident about upgrading to Max and the bill only going up ~$20-30 per month? I would love to be able to confirm this on my own without recruiting customer service...

So weird. Usually they charge a $10 for SIM card. This time, it's completely free. No shipping or sim card charges. Did this thru website on computer. Anyone else?
I saw the same but didn't complete the order as I didn't see anything mention about free line, is this normal that we don't see this being free? Just wondering how many ordered online vs call in.
NVM, looks like it cannot be done online, has to be via CS rep.

I am not sure but I think #1 is under deals at the website itself. #2 is not yet updated on the site, but CS reps seems to communicate about it as if it is real and accurate.

Amplified plan is excluded from this promotion.
I'm on Magenta Amplified, just chatted on the app and got the free voice line (line #9) added.

Just a heads up. Make sure you carefully read the promo they enroll you in-store for the free iphone SE. I asked multiple times and showed the reps the promo I was asking for and they said ok.
I just happen to think about the promo name and it wasn't the free iphone promo. About to contact tforce about this BS, hopefully they can fix it.

Hi, Since you moved from Magenta 1.0 to Magenta 2.0, can you pls check something?

Under "Manage Data and Add-ons" for your Magenta 2.0 plan, do you still have the options to choose Netflix HD for $5.00/mo and Netflix UHD for $9.00/mo ?
These options are selectable/deletable on a per month basis on 1.0. Some months, I binge on Netflix and would pay the $9.00 for UHD quality just for that month, and then revert back to the free Netflix SD included free on Magenta 1.0

Also, since Magenta 2.0 increases the Hotspot to 5GB, is there any pay option that you can see in Magenta 2.0 "manage Data and Add-ons" to choose more Hotspot data?
In the case of Magenta 1.0 which includes the 3GB hotspot per line, there is an option to pay 10GB Hotspot for $10.00/mo. Again, like the 10GB hotspot option is selectable/deletable on a per month basis.

Thanks!
There is an option for Netflix Standard ($5) and Netflix Premium ($9).
Hotspot options: 15GB hotspot for $10/mo and 40GB hotspot for $15/mo.

I did this today in-store, added a free line, port-in a number from freedompop, and trade-in an Iphone XR. All promos were applied to the account a few hours later.

This was the fastest trade-in that I have done and received a message that the trade-in is completed - all on the same day.
what is the cost for iphone 12 Pro max with this deal?

I have 8 lines now. What happens if I upgrade my T-Mobile One account to a T-mobile One SOC for 9-12 lines by adding this free line, but in the future decide to cancel a line and it drops me back to 8 lines? Does it roll back to my old T-Mobile SOC, or will they automatically enroll me into a Magenta Plan?
In the past, when I port out my # 9 line, my SOC the same. So 7,8 or 9 Lines I was paying the same price every month.

Or less ... if you remember this post from a member who had 3 paid lines, a 50% and 5 Free Lines for $41 ( Before Kickbacks LOL !!!)

I have seen people mention that prices go down when you get to 9 lines. How does that work? I'm at 8 lines now (4 paid and 4 free). I was planning on cancelling a BOGO pair in a year to reduce the overall price as I don't need those lines. As part of that plan, I was not planning on taking advantage of any future AAL offers until 2022, but if the price will go down if/when I add a 9th line, I would reconsider.

I'm expecting that my price would remain the same ($128 for the 4 paid lines with the Insider discount) if I add a future free line as the 9th line. Is that not the case? Or is the pricing that different with the MAGENTA9 SOC?
There's a member here (forgot his username) who was in your shoes back in December, and after adding line # 9 , the Bill went down to, I believe $76 . You can do the calculation by taking the price of 9 Lines, then subtract Autopay, subtract Hookup, then subtract whatever amount shows in front of your Free lines (most likely $20-$30 per line) . You have to make sure the CSR making the switch do it correctly and move all your Free Lines, and keep them under Account Level.

(also see Quote from user ejtt7ciia below, $66)

Unfortunately most of these deals don't work with grandfathered plans.

Edited: Here is the short version of what I have:

Magenta® 1.0
$66.00/mo

Cost: $310

Applied discounts and promotions:
$40 AutoPay Discount
$54 Insider Discount
$30 19 Magenta Friday Free Line
$30 2020 Line On Us
$30 2020 Line On Us 2
$30 2020 Line on Us 3
$30 2020 Line On Us 4
So you pay 4 lines for $66 on Magenta plan? IncludesTax and fees? Rep told me magenta plan only has 5G hot spot and not a good plan compared to T-Mobile one or one all in promo plan. Your plan also doesn't have HD streaming .

Thanks, added a new line and also got an iPhone SE for free. Had to port in a number, so I ported in my Google Voice number.
