If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

Another option is port out to a cheap non T-Mobile prepaid (such as h2o) and come back in 3 months
Yup - that would work as well.

So it seems like to really get into the money you need to reach the 9 line level and have a basic One or Magenta plan that only charges +$20 per added line. After 8 lines on those plans the cost increases to +30 per added line and all your free line discounts will then glitch and match that down the line -30 pocketing +$10 for each free line before the 9th. So this wouldn't work on Magenta Max where each added line is +30 from the start right? Does this sounds like what's going on?

It was a temporary solution for me to be able to keep my number but move to a better plan (on a different account). This was specific to a situation.
No I understand that. I also use Google Voice. Just pointing out It's just hard to convince other people on a family plan to live with Google Voice for 90 days when as I said it is not as easy to use as should be. Learning curve for Android, and completely different app on ios.

That sounds about right. I think eventually they will correct their billing system.

All - I just got the deal via speaking to TForce agent on the mobile app and can confirm the following:

1. Line is absolutely FREE. May or may not include additional billing taxes depending what plan you're on.

2. iPhone SE promo is absolutely FREE. There is currently two offers for the SE, one of which is FREE and the other 50% off. Speak to a live agent and get it for FREE. If you purchase it with directly from the site, it will only reflect 50% off. The rep originally said it did not stack, but keep pressing. I litterally used slick deals and reddit as proof. Show the screen shots of users stacking both promos if needed. He eventually got it confirmed by whoever was above him.

3. Google Voice Port-In is allowed according to the Tforce agent I spoke with. However, many users including the OP do not recommend porting a GV number. YMMV.

All I had to pay was $30, which was the tax on the phone it self. I'll will have to pay $3 later to unlock number from GVoice prior to porting. This will be done once the phone arrives.

I confirmed every single detail in the above and have everything in writing. I suggest everyone else does the same.

Good luck.

EDIT 1: Additional monthly billing taxes may or may not apply depending on what plan you're on.

EDIT 2: Based on the feedback from this thread, it looks like GV porting is still unconfirmed. However, a Tforce agent did tell me that it was allowable. YMMV.
Are you sure the $30 is the tax on the phone? They're telling me it's $30 to activate the new line plus sales tax on the phone. Side note, they did ask if I have the account number and PIN; according to Google, you use the 10 digit number and the PIN is whatever PIN you use to check voicemail.

Oh wait maybe it would work with max. Same concept, add a line for lines 9-12 increases from 30-40 I think. So $40 free line discounts down the account ?!

Yeah! Overseas rep was able to add One Plus Promo to new free line again. Wasn't immediately possible as grandfathered but she wanted to talk to supervisor to make it happen. It took a couple of hours and then it suddenly showed up under add-ons as for the other lines.

so i added a line for free and went for the iphone 12 on us promo.

they said the way the 830 breaks down is $170 is a bill credit and the 660 is split across 24 months.

is there anyway to have the $170 apply to the phone and not the total bill? i ask because i split the bill with others and it would make it a lot easier if i could adjust the bill credit to the phone directly.
Did you port in a number? To qualify for the $830 credit on the iPhone 12, do we have to complete all 3 requirements?
1) Port in a number
2) Trade in a qualifying device
3) Add a new line

So the port in number will take the place of the new line requirement for the $830 iphone promo? Never did a port in for t-mobile and was wondering how it works.
Same here. Never did port in with TMobile before. I wonder if the iPhone 12 promo works if I just add a new line and trade in a qualifying device.

Does anyone know if porting in an ATT landline number would work with the iPhone 12 promo?

What's the difference between magenta 1.0 vs 2.0? Just the Hotspot goes up to 5gb? I have the 1.0. If 8 switch to the 2.o, would it carry my 4 free lines? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Does anyone know the difference between USCFM4 vs USCFM4L? I'm on the FM4 and not eligible for a new line... Did they just add an "L" to exclude grandfathered plan?
L was a plan similar to non L but $20 more. USCFM4 is one of the better plans ever offered by tmobile and rarely is eligible for these free line offers anymore
