Can someone let me know if it works this way?

I am planning to add a line at Costco to get $150. And then call T-Mobile to ask for making that line free. And also I would like to port friends Verizon number to this line and purchase iPhone 12 and trade iPhone 8 to receive $830 credit..

Please let me know if this can be done or risky???

It can be transferred, but would it be qualified for the port-in promotion?
I think it is qualified because the number is from competitor carrier. I another number from Ting-Verizon number for $4 AGC. Please pm me if you are interested. TIA

Added the line at Costco and picked up an SE with the $180 off rebate. They also printed out a $100 rebate for adding a line.

Messaged T-force to see if they anticipate any problems with the 2021 Line on Us 6 promotion (which already shows up on my account) stacking with the $100 rebate. They already verified getting the SE with a rebate is no problem through Costco.

I did all transactions in-store - adding free line, port-in, and trade-in. Hence, all my promos were applied the same day including the message that my trade-in was complete.
Same here. The rep told me they have to mail it out and will take 3-4 bill cycle so start the credit. Apparently, it does apply to the account on the same day. She also wanted to charge me a $10 sim fee. I brought my own sim knowing I can save the iPhone sim for next time. Don't understand the logic of having to pay to activate the sim already on the phone.

Purchased an AT&T line to port for the SE deal - but my Costco did not have any SEs for me to link to EIP.

PM me if you want it at cost ($16)

Impressive :-)
Need advice from you guys who are in 9-12 lines club. My situation:
Magenta1.0 (MAGENTA2) with 20% hookup, 8 lines:
Lines 1, 2: paid
Line 3: free, 2020 3rd line on us 3
Line 4: free, 2020 Line On Us 2
Lines 5, 6: paid, costco $300 byod deal
Line 7: paid, costco samsung bogo deal
Line 8: paid, costco iphone se deal

As of now, total is $160 ($96+4x$16). I tried to see what TMO would offer if I add a 9th line through my account. It offers me $30x9=$270 Magenta plan, not sure if MAGENTA9 or MGNTA9. Did not take it, lol.

My question: if I change to 9-12 line Magenta plan through chat or TF and manage to keep 20% hookup discount and 2 current free lines, and get new free line, what my new total may look like? Just a rough estimate would be fine (or PM would be appreciated). Thanks!
If the 9th line you're adding is free, your monthly cost will still be $160.

If it's a paid 9th line, your total will be $176. The 9th thru 12th lines are normally +$30 each but one of your existing free lines will automatically take over that $30 slot so your adding $20 - 20% hookup.

If you're looking at it online showing the $270 total, that doesn't include all of your discounts/free lines. $270 - $30 free 9th line - $20 free 8th line - $44 (20% hookup on remaining $220) = $176. Or it's $270 - $30 free 9th line - $20 free 8th line - $20 free 7th line - $40 (20% on remaining $200) = $160.

MAGENTA9 is the original Magenta 1.0 plan and MGNTA9 is the newly announced Magenta plan (5GB hotspot, 100GB priority data). Definitely switch to the new Magenta plan as your free lines and hookup transfer over; there's no downside to the switch.
