If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

I am also on the ONE Plus Promo plan with 8 lines. 5 paid, 3 free. My rep originally wanted me to switch to Magenta because I had maxed out my lines. But when I told him that wouldn't get the kickback discount, he spent some time and was able to change my max line count to 9. When I logged in to my account now it shows that I'm still on the ONE Plus Promo and 9 lines. Kickbacks still there.

I also did the free iphone se. He waived the sim charge and said for me to do the port when I get the phone.
Thank for the info... just got done with tforce on Twitter and got a fantastic rep. She said she has done it before a few times already with other people with our plan and promo and knew exactly what needed to be done. I'm going to scrounge up a number to port, and a used phone to take advantage of the iphone 12 on us with this line. Thanks your reply...it's all about getting a good customer service rep.👍

Cool. I was about to ask the forum. Mine has not showed up yet. Rep insists it's there on their end.

It sure is. Iphone SE is now backordered but you can still get it. 50%. Off or free if you do a port in. Plenty of free lower end androids. Samsung A71 $99 etc

That makes sense. If I'm saving money, it's not a big deal to pass up the BYOD. I'll check with T-Force. Is that better than going through chat in the app? I haven't had issues with chat, but I haven't changed SOC or done anything complicated.

Thanks for the suggestions.
For SOC change, I'd rather do it with T-force. They are the best in transferring over all the promos and discounts. TEM from your app should be able to do that also. I wouldn't do it over the phone as it is a hit and miss.

I was just back from Costco store. Yes, it's $150 BYOD. I added a line there and also ported in a FreedomPop number. Got paper for $150 reward and submitted it online. But I have to call T-Mobile to get the number transferred successfully. The phone rep just asked phone number and account PIN, and then she activated my line. After line is activated, the 2021 LOU6 showed up in my account details.
Also confirmed with T-Mobile rep that my port-in number is qualified for T439 and placed an order on trademore for iPhone 8. When it's here, will order a iPhone 12 to get $830 credit.
Do you expect to open a new line for the

Can you tell me what the T439 promo is? Looks like you are getting a free line, BYOD credit and $830 credit for a new line and tradein for Apple?

I added free line on my Simple Choice grandfathered plan. However the new line shows up as
"SC 6GB Data & SMHS $15.00/mo + tax"

Anyone else seeing this issue?
