If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

I was finally able to add a free line to FRLTUL4LP after being rejected a few times. I had to keep looking for a rep that could do it. I received a text confirming my free line.

its just these 2. TIULFM9 vs FRLTULFM9. im still trying to figure the differences lol
FRLTULFM9 has the FF ($20) with a 4th line promo ($10) for $130 when converted from TE to TI. I confirmed with a few users on that soc.

I picked TIULFM9 and lost the 2 FF lines, but was able to exchange for the 20%. Otherwise no different if you don't have FF promo.

iPhone SE is free with a port in and is stackable with the free line. I didn't see it advertises anywhere either but I was able to get one via t-mobile app chat.

I signed up for free iPhone SE (T536) yesterday, but it's showing up as 50% off (T412) today. Check your account if you got the SE deal.

That's what I saw on my account, only 50% off. So I suppose that something I'll have to ask for.. I need to find a reliable source for a port in number...

So once the store rep accepted my trade in, it's done deal for the trade in? Can they still come back later saying something wrong with the phone?
No, they do not. Once traded in store and confirmed, it is all set. You should see the details online under Help-Check Order Status or in your Mobile App in the More section.
