If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

Since this getting a port in number that you know for sure will work, seems to be a little challenging now, is there anyway a prepaid VZ or Att number would work, and what's the cheapest that they would cost, even paying for a crappy month service that won't be used?

I am heading over to Costco to add my free line with the $150 credit.

I want to follow that up with the Iphone 12 $830 credit promo and would prefer to trade in the old phone at Tmobile store (So there are no issues subsequently with the phone inspection) and port my visible phone number. Can anyone confirm if there would be any additional costs at the Tmobile store to do the trade in or if I can do this at Costco itself?
You can't do the Trade in for iPhone at Costco. The $150 credit for BYOD device is self explanatory.
Basically you are trying to game or trick the system to giving you BYOD credit and getting an iPhone on same line. Obviously you need to do this separately if you want to game the system

I will do it at T-Mobile store. because you can see the promo and tradin in credit applied. and you dont hv to worried about your trade in getting denied or lost in shipping. it worth the $30 fee to me.

depend on what you pay now, it definitely is possible. I think the mess up is higher than the reward. I don't know how they check if you previously had the promo. I started with 4th line promo and added FF (only allow 1 free). My failed attempt last year to convert from TE to TI lost all the free lines. I had them restored my plan, surprised that it was possible, and my 4th line became 2 FF.

When they moved me to 9 lines, the 4th line promo was added even though my current plan no longer has it. I asked for a hookup and the 4th line was removed. I tried to chat to get 4th line added, was told submitted to the offline team. As expected nothing came out of it except got myself worry what might happen when someone looked at my account.
so i chatted with tfroce on twitter and that rep is so quick on the fingers that i simply asked him the differences between TIULFM9 vs FRLTULFM9 and he went and switched me over to TIULFM9 without my permission. then i asked about FF 2 lines on us promo compatibility with FRLTULFM9 and then he switched me over again to that plan without my permission LOL. from my online account, im seeing my hook up, kick back and 4 free lines from last yr are sticking. hook up discount went from $32 to $62 before i even added 9th line.

nevertheless, he was unable to add ff 2 lines on us promo back with FRLTULFM9 even though you said you confirmed couple others had it on their FRLTULFM9 plan. oh well

last thing about google voice # being ineligible. rep also said free google service dont qualify as port in for the iphone deal. however, he checked out the google # i gave him and hes seeing those google voice # as LANDLINE !!! which means landline qualify for the port in. i guess it depends on your google nume whether tmobile seeing them as landline or as voip num

T-mo is still showing this BOGO offer for the S21 5G:
https://www.t-mobile.com/content/...-bogo.html

Does that work with this free line?

I am sure Tforce is slammed. How long on average did it take to get a response from initial DM?

How long before the new line and full order info (free iPhone with 2021 Apple Switch trade P1 - T439) should show up on my account? I worked with T-Force to add the line and then get the free iPhone offer. I have a Verizon line to port, but he told me to wait until the device arrives to do that.

We finished up about 45 minutes ago, but I don't see the added line or any details of the order that was placed for the new phone. In my Account history I see documents related to the order (eip and e-signature agreements) and a order placed line item. I also see a Lease Return line item, but the phone was already purchased outright.

The only thing that I see on the main page of my account is the credit on the account that he gave me to comp shipping.

Should I be concerned yet? Confused

I did the same and it took about 24 hrs to see the line added to my acct. Once I got the number, I chatted with Tmo again to port the number. Looks like I will be enjoying my free iPhone SE soon. laugh out loud

Suppose to be one or the other but T-Mobile system is bad. Won't catch all the mistakes. People have been known to get both.
Others manage to get it even after being denied by complaining and b**ching.
People will just continue to game the system since there is no penalty, as of now.

fyi I believe you could've just saved yourself the headache and added a line yourself online. It would appear as if you're adding a paid line (with the added monthly charge) but T-Mobile's system would automatically pick up the line as being free if your account qualified (which you know it does as your SOC code is in the posted list of eligible codes). That's a roundabout way of saying that I don't believe that reps can add a "free line". They just add a line like you could simply add a line or Costco could add a line or an in-store employee could add a line. There's no check box for or special method to add a free line. Whether the line is free or not will be determined automatically by T-Mobile's system.
I have started figuring out that seems to be the case and that the system is determining all the requirements/qualifications. I guess I could have gotten Costco rebate if I had tried. Oh well, I didn't get the rebate but I did avoid the chance of getting Covid by not going there.

I was getting responses in 1 - 2 hours when I was messaging with T-force on Twitter T-mobile Help.
