If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

FWIW last night I added the free line at Costco and took advantage of the $150 Costco Shop Card as well -- applied for it already and will take several weeks to receive. But I did receive the Free Line text last night and it was already showing as "2021 Line On Us 6" on my account. The $150 Costco deal expired yesterday, don't know if something else took its place today.

i lost FF 2 lines on us promo when i converted from TE to TI. However, i was able to get hookup added as compensation. so your saying i should try FRLTULFM9 and ask for FF promo back ? lol
depend on what you pay now, it definitely is possible. I think the mess up is higher than the reward. I don't know how they check if you previously had the promo. I started with 4th line promo and added FF (only allow 1 free). My failed attempt last year to convert from TE to TI lost all the free lines. I had them restored my plan, surprised that it was possible, and my 4th line became 2 FF.

When they moved me to 9 lines, the 4th line promo was added even though my current plan no longer has it. I asked for a hookup and the 4th line was removed. I tried to chat to get 4th line added, was told submitted to the offline team. As expected nothing came out of it except got myself worry what might happen when someone looked at my account.

I was finally able to add a free line to FRLTUL4LP after being rejected a few times. I had to keep looking for a rep that could do it. I received a text confirming my free line.
fyi I believe you could've just saved yourself the headache and added a line yourself online. It would appear as if you're adding a paid line (with the added monthly charge) but T-Mobile's system would automatically pick up the line as being free if your account qualified (which you know it does as your SOC code is in the posted list of eligible codes). That's a roundabout way of saying that I don't believe that reps can add a "free line". They just add a line like you could simply add a line or Costco could add a line or an in-store employee could add a line. There's no check box for or special method to add a free line. Whether the line is free or not will be determined automatically by T-Mobile's system.

A71 5G is back in stock. Just cancelled yesterday's order of the Moto G Play and ordered it for $100. This, IMO, is the best deal. These have a $400 trade-in value right now so you could theoretically get it, pay it off, trade it in for $400 off another phone, and still receive the credits on your bill for 24 months. It's basically a $250 moneymaker (after accounting for tax).

you're correct. the ppl add free line through store, Costco, twitter thinking the rep use use special code for the free line. all they did just add a regular paid line and the system will decide its free or paid.

No, they do not. Once traded in store and confirmed, it is all set. You should see the details online under Help-Check Order Status or in your Mobile App in the More section.
Thanks.

FRLTULFM9 has the FF ($20) with a 4th line promo ($10) for $130 when converted from TE to TI. I confirmed with a few users on that soc.

I picked TIULFM9 and lost the 2 FF lines, but was able to exchange for the 20%. Otherwise no different if you don't have FF promo.
just curious, what plans are the FRLTULFM9 and TIULFM9? Assuming they are either One or Magenta with 9 lines?
what are the FF lines you mentioned?

I had my T-mobile One plan changed from TM1T12 to FRLTULFM2 (it was TM one day then a few days later FR Confused ), 8 lines max with Kickbacks (love overseas reps!!!!!). They said they added back the One plus promo but I don't see it. However, I see my plan has 10GB of free hotspots, which was one of the highlights of the one plus promo. Not sure though.

If you cancel your line before receiving 24 bill credits, you may owe up to the full value of your device (e.g. $399.99 – iPhone SE); if canceling your account, you can contact us first to instead make discounted monthly balance payments. Tax on pre-credit price due at sale. Limited-time offer; subject to change. Qualifying credit & port-in required. If you have cancelled lines in past 90 days, you may need to reactivate them first. $10 SIM card and, in stores & on customer service calls, $20 assisted or upgrade support charge may be required. Up to $399.99 via bill credits; must be active and in good standing to receive credits; allow 2 bill cycles. Max 4 discounted devices/account. May not be combinable with some offers or discounts.

Purchase a new iPhone SE using T-Mobile's Equipment Installment Plan (EIP), activate a line on a qualifying rate plan, and port your number to get the device on us via 24 monthly bill credits.
I already got the free line and am waiting for SIM to arrive. Can I still get the iPhone SE free when I call to get a number ported into the free line? Thanks!

Both are TMO 9-12 lines. TM1T12 is also TMO, I don't know the limitation but I think it has to do with the number of lines. Original TMO can only do 3G hotspot, One plus promo gives you 10GB hotspot. FF is friends and family 2 free lines from 2016.
