The last time TMobile ran the free line promo, they explicitly stated that the free line was not stackable with a Costco rebate (just like this time). There was lots of talk about not doing the BYOD rebate from Costco in fear that TMobile might cancel the free line if you submitted for the BYOD rebate from Costco.

Did anyone complete the BYOD Costco rebate last time with the free line? Did you get rebate from Costco? Anyone have their free line cancelled for doing the BYOD rebate at Costco?

You will get KB on lines 1-9 (Both Paid and Free) once you successfully convert to the 9-12 SoC and they go Account Level. On 2-8 SoC, KB on Free lines are at Line Level so no extra discount.
applies every line 9 to 12 soc ? in my case both of TIULFM9 vs FRLTULFM9

I did twice on free line BYOD in Costco last year and got cash cards without any issue.

No, Dec 2020 is LOU4. I believe the LOU5 is the BOGO deal.

I did BYOD at Costco. I got my $100 rebate last week and my line is still fine. I don't think the two systems talk to each other.

Completed trade-in iPhone 8+ on the free line today, in-store for an iPhone 12. I had already ordered the free line on Thursday, which was activated with the "2021 LOU 6" yesterday.

Thanks to shockx, ported a Visible number eligible for the iPhone promo and completed that yesterday. Phone was out of stock and was told to come back today to purchase along with trade-in. Phone CS was surprised that corporate store did it out of sequence by porting first before selling the phone, but assured that everything looks good on the account.

After $110 instant credit, remaining $720 applied at $30/month over 24-months and already showing up in the account under the correct promotion "2021 Apple Switch Trade P1".

Paid $30 SIM + CS fee as it was in-store, and contemplating if I should call in for a refund. But, the trade-in was smooth and all credits showing up within an hour after store visit.

To summarize:
  • You can open free line first then port / trade-in later and as long as those three things are done properly, credits show up
  • If having any doubts on trade-in, better to do in-store even with $30 fee, as bill credits are high
  • I didn't risk doing a BYOD first in Costco this time. But, YMMV to those experimenting it and getting a new phone.
Thanks for sharing the experience. Just curious why you need to purchase another SIM. When you added your ling, you already got a SIM, right?

Does anyone know if the sim card is inside the phone box, I bought Iphone 12 from the store two days ago, the rep gave me the phone still sealed in plastic wrap and didn't give me sim card. Thanks.
The SIM card is either in the phone or in the box. Last time for my iPhone 12 mini, it's already inserted in the phone. But for my Pixel 4a 5G, it's a card in box.

Thanks for sharing the info. Looks like the Costco rebate will stack with free line promotion. It's great.

Thanks, same as the rep told me when I called this afternoon, I had some doubt with what he said, because I thought the phone was from Apple and sealed, not possible to have Tmobile sims inside, but I am wrong.

2/100 One All in is limited to 3 lines. Even if you made the switch to One 2/100, you wouldn't get a free line as it's been excluded for all the 2020 Lines on Us, as well as this promo 2021 Line on Us 6. It also doesn't include netflix. I switched off One All in 2/100 to the regular One 2/120 during the 1st free line promo of 2020, since the plan did qualify for all the 2020 free lines + this one, as well netflix. After hookup my base voice plan is $96 before the $3 Netflix charge + an additional tablet line, and before kickback. I have 7 voice lines (2 paid + 5 free).
I see, thank you so much for the useful info.
I guess my plan so far is still good. I just hope I can get one free line, that's all I need and want...I guess I'll stay with what I have now.
