After the number is activated, chat with the rep on their website. They will give you the account and pin info

Anyone know the cricket wireless pin where it is set? I think it's under settings and Account Pin? I see an option saying turn pin on - which i did - not sure if that's the right area.

You can do either. I did it in-store. If you do it in-store, Once they check your trade-in phone and accept it, the deal is guaranteed. You don't have to Mail the trade-in phone, wait for Assurant to receive and assess your phone for the credit.
My trade-in was completed in one day and I received the message from T-mobile the same day.

Debating whether to get the A71 for $99 or the BYOD Costco Rebate for $150? Also, was able to switch from Magenta 1.0 to the new one and carried free lines
The A71 has $400 trade-in value. Something to consider if you're going to get a new phone anytime soon. It's basically a $250 (after tax) moneymaker.

Phone offers with free lines are rare. Getting the best phone deal is more desirable than the rebate.

I have no idea about cricket, so can't help you with that. But, I would explore other options and take advantage of free line and phone offers immediately. No idea how long the promo will last.

I have a A71 5g phone from Tmobile that I signed up for free with 24 month credits last year. I am not using the device on TMobile now though I have the line on which I bought the device active. Can I trade in this device instead of trying to find a new device?

Maybe slightly off topic here.
Has anyone converted simple choice to a different plan, say T-One or Magenta and still have all the free lines previously awarded?

I'm on T-mobile One (SOC is FRLTULF2)
4 paid & 4 free lines
I'm considering jumping up to 9 lines with this deal
Should I request FRLTULFM9 or TIULFM9 ?
Adding my datapoint here:
I was on FRLTULF2 and had maxed out my lines to 8. I contacted TMO through iMessage and requested to add the free line without losing any existing promos. The rep initially said it would trigger a rate plan change but upon following up, she was able to request and was granted approval to move me to TIULFM9.

Bonus- She made the SOC change for me before I added the line, and then told me to add the line online to save on the $20 fee for doing it over support. Right after she made the change I went online and verified my SOC had changed and added the line. The $10 sim card was waived with the description
Quote :
Keep your phone, we'll cover costs when you switch & pay it off. See how.
In summary, I got my grandfathered plan with a line limit of 8 converted to the equivalent 9-12 plan, and got this promo with no extra charges for activation or sim fees.

what condition does the phone need to be in when you do these trade in offers?
Is it something like, as long as you can turn it on?
Or does the screen and the body of the phone need not have cracks?
