Through the T-Mobile App. You just select change plan, and then you will see on the left your current plan - Magenta 1.0 and on the right Magenta. You should see the same monthly price for both. If that's the case then select to change - may need to confirm on a second page or you may just get the confirmation page. Hope it helps
Thanks. but I don't see the same price. I see more than 60 dollars difference with new Magenta. . I am in the middle of Iphone 12 promo i did yesterday online .. could that be the reason? also the free line i added in costco couple of days ago, no longer shows up as free and Magenta 1.0 cost itself is more than what i currently pay... I guess i will need to check with T-mobile.

I may do that, I know there were some people that had them here, so I wanted to give first options here. Planning on getting the A71 as a spare for my existing S20 FE and the S21 I'm going to get.

Any downside to "upgrading" to this new Magenta?

You can do either. I did it in-store. If you do it in-store, Once they check your trade-in phone and accept it, the deal is guaranteed. You don't have to Mail the trade-in phone, wait for Assurant to receive and assess your phone for the credit.
My trade-in was completed in one day and I received the message from T-mobile the same day.
Can you clarify what the add a line + trade in deal most people are doing?

You will get KB on lines 1-9 (Both Paid and Free) once you successfully convert to the 9-12 SoC and they go Account Level. On 2-8 SoC, KB on Free lines are at Line Level so no extra discount.
I stand corrected. Can you convert to 9-12 SoC before getting to line 8? I'm at 7 right now on FRLTULF2. I read that TIULFM9 is the equivalent for >8 lines.

Yeah and now I got phone delivered with new sim and that's the one got activated so stay tuned you will receive text that sim Changed etc soon
Did you port in at the time of order / add a line ? Right now the way it looks -

1. New number assigned to this free line when i activated a SIM I already had
2. Ordered a iPhone next day as an upgrade to this new line, the new number got suspended , and seems like another completely different number is reserved on my account as per the rep and the free line promo dropped off.

I haven't given them any porting number or info.

The switching to magenta can wait. I did it yesterday because today was my new billing cycle. I would wait until you see the same price. I wouldn't take a chance. I will get my free line today, that way I can get the bill credits the first billing cycle.

The switching took a full day and it wasn't letting me add a line in between. Also, it said that it would take place on the first day of the billing cycle. Just wait a few days.

Nope. Just 3gb to 5gb upgrade of Hotspot. It also gives you 5G (which was technically in the 1.0 before).

Has anyone complete the Free iPhone SE offer at Costco?

Oh, and to complicate things I will be using a freedompop as a port
Can't do free at Costco unless you have them order the phone for you at the Kiosk. Different promos at Costco store.

Slightly off topic, but I have Square trade insurance through Costco on my existing TMO phone. If I do the S21 800 credit deal any recommends on insurance?

A dumb question. Can I buy a att/verizon prepaid in target, activate it, and port to tmobile?

Based on everything I'm seeing in this thread and results, yes.

Is there a reason why the 3 month wait since i dont plan on taking any port-in deals? I was thinking of having her port to ATT or Verizon for a month and port to my free line that i got last year. Thank you in advance.

I think it is safer to wait for 3 months - I did the same with my number a while back and multiple Tforce reps confirmed that you have to wait for 3 months.
