If you are using a phone promo on the free line that requires a port in, you MUST complete the port in by end of day TODAY, March 23rd.

For anyone looking to buy a iPhone 8 for the trade-in requirement for Tmobile's iPhone 12, the following are the different sources ranked from best to worst. Keep in mind the phone carrier doesn't matter for the trade-in, so it can be unlocked, AT&T, Verizon, T-mobile, anything. Phone must not have water damage, cracked screen, anything that could be perceived as a cracked screen, password lock, or icloud lock. Small dents, scratches, screen burn, and weak batteries are okay.
Trademore - iPhone 8 starting at $159 [trademore.com] Folks in the Cricket iPhone SE thread been trading their iPhone SE's for $200 Paypal from Trademore, so we know they are legit. They are also the trade-in inspector one of the cell carriers (Verizon or AT&T), so doubt they will sell anything that doesn't pass inspection. They will probably be your safest bet to acquire a good quality trade-in. Shipping is included in the price. Swappa - iPhone 8 starting at $158 [swappa.com] Swappa's policy is no junk, so you are covered if you receive something you can't trade in. That said, since everyone is a third party, you get a wide variety of prices and conditions. I have received cracked screens before, but the seller took it back immediately. Still, this may cause you to lose this Tmobile promotion. Shipping is included in the price. Local (Craigslist, Offerup, etc) Your experience will vary, and the onus is on you to validate the phone is ready for trade-in. You might score with a great deal, or you might get ripped off. Only go this route if you know how to inspect phones or you need the phone the same day. eBay [ebay.com] You will have to read each listing very carefully, since there are listings for cracked, water damaged, icloud locked, or otherwise untradeable phones. Returns policies also vary by seller. Unless you score an amazing deal on ebay, Trademore or Swappa are safer options. |

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.
To accomplish it, you would need to:
1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.
This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

I got lucky with the SIM kit as I got like 10 when they were selling for $1.
If you are not attached to the numbers I would investigate and create a plan of action to take advantage of these type of promos and then switch. If you want to keep the numbers, see if you can find a way to park them on Google Voice etc. for 90 plus days for so and craft a plan of action. Sure, it's a hassle, but I would try to start fresh and see if you can get the hookup deal and some other promos and then be eligible for free lines and promos in the fall. You most likely get better promos as a "new" customer.
To clarify, the expiring iPhone promo is for "2021 Apple Switch Trade P1 - T439", "2021 Apple Switch P1 - T536" or both?
I added a line Sunday night on the site to make sure I didn't miss the promo, but I'm looking to upgrade my wife's phone (trade in of S9) and then either sell my S20 FE for $$$ and get a BOGO S21 5G and perhaps a S21+ or Ultra for me.
Any opinions? I was scouring the Costco sheet and it looks like the BOGO promo ended there on the 18th, so trying to figure the best way.
Also, looking for a phone number to port as well. Will pay via AGC, etc.

Or, Cricket at 4 for $100. With Cricket, you can pair it with a discounted phone on port-in, which you can use to trade when returning to T-Mobile. Timing is always an issue. There were many who made use of iPhone 7 ($0) / 8 ($50) / 8+ ($100-150) deals with Cricket last year, which were traded to T-Mo for iPhone 11 /12 deals.
AT&T offers $250 GC up to two lines / account for BYOD.
I was in a similar situation when Sprint's free service ended in June last year. Switched to Visible / Cricket, and spent enough time outside (3-4 months) to come back in as a new customer, and combined with Insider / Hookup discount and iPhone trade-in deals. The Visible rebates paid for the time I was out of Sprint / T-Mo. Started with 4-line (primary lines) Magenta plan at $112 and have added three free (secondary / kids) lines so far (Nov 20, Dec 20, Mar 21) - so now $112 for 7. I just missed one more free line that came when Hookup was offered last year, else I would have been at $96 for 7 now. Icing on the Nov 20 free line was the $200 Costco Card + $100 T-Mo port-in rebate. I will stay put for sometime with T-Mo and look for options when the EIP ends to rotate some paid lines.
With BYOD deals with other carriers, there are plenty of places to move around without breaking the bank.

T-Force confirmed T439 will expire today. If you want to get it, please place your order by end of today.
T536 expiration date is TBD. Confirmed by T-Force.
TODAY IS THE LAST DAY FOR THIS PROMO AS WELL AS THE IPHONE PROMOS.
If you are using a phone promo on the free line that requires a port in, you MUST complete the port in by end of day TODAY, March 23rd.
You don't have to port in today, you have 14 or 30 days to do so. The reps encourage you to do it right away to avoid billing mess but its not a hard and fast rule to do the port in on the same day the promo ends.
Am I missing something ? Please correct me if I am.

now the only thing that worries me is, I submitted the Costco BYOD $150 rebate with the number I got in Costco (as a free line), but later on I Ported-in a Visible number on top of it for that iPhone-12 on US promo.
So will Costco (http://www.mypromochoi
