It should be pre-installed inside the phone

If you opened the line and ordered the device in the same transaction. Your sim will be inside the phone.

I opened up a line first then a few days later ordered the phone.

So I got two different packages.

sure it can.

I have done so numerous times in the past.

Upgrade on Line1 and use phone on Line2.

However, the installment and credits remain on the line of purchase.
Thanks!

You can't when the line isn't active yet....

Again, you need to wait at least 24 hours

Dude...I know how to port in, do it all the time. Just saying you can't port in a number on a line that ISN'T ACTIVE and WON'T be active until the phone ships.
Quote from WF72431 :
Yeah, just wait 24 hours for the line to be active so you can transfer
I was able to port in at the same time I got the free line and buying the iPhone 12 (via trade-in of iPhone 8 - paid for tax). I did it through DM on Twitter. My phone doesn't ship till 4/20. But I did have another SIM with me so was able to do all that. Didn't have to wait 24 hours to port in.

Free iPhone 12 T538 promo requires not to have any lines canceled in past 90 days. But what will be if I'll cancel other line AFTER I'll add new line with T538 promo?

Update on those that selected the 128GB or 256GB version of the Iphone SE. Yes you paid an extra $50 down payment but guess what? That phone will be free too!!! You will get $450 back over 24 months instead of $400 Smilie confirmed as my credits are now showing.

If you have a chase card. Check your offers.

You might be able to get Visible for free first month. ($25 credit for paying Visible $25)

Open a Visible account and then port-in. This can be done in minutes especially if you have an e-sim enabled phone.

I'm gonna say it one more time...my line IS NOT ACTIVE so they can't do the port-in yet. I don't know even know why I'm still replying.... I asked the question when people were talking about HAVING to complete the port-in yesterday. SD mobile sucks because it's not easy to read every post and I travel Sat-Wed, so I was only on mobile. Now that I'm home at an actual computer, I got to read up on it.

Tried porting out of FreedomPop (FP) with Tforce on twitter but got a text that I needed to call. The person I called told me it is the wrong account #. I remember somewhere in SD that to port from FP tmo needs to call then but the # the rep has doesn't ring. I gave him the # on FP's web page but not sure what is going on. Does this seem strange; if so, what next?

btw, I verified the account/pin thru FP email and FP twitter.

edit
great, now this person just tried to disconnect saying he can only hold for 10 minutes. I asked him, what am I supposed to do when they verify my account number. call you back???? he then put me on hold again - outsourcing at its best

For my case, T-Mobile didn't call FP and it just went through. I also got the text to ask me to call T-Mobile to complete the port. But T-Mobile rep just verified my account # and PIN and then it's done.
I recommend to chat with FP and confirm account # and PIN. If they are correct, it should be good.
BTW, is your FP number the legacy VOIP line or the new Premium line? The old VOIP line will be landline and take long time.

Also, there is a new promotion T538 which doesn't need port-in. You can check with T-Force and see whether it can stack with free line. If yes, you can get this one.
