Wildly inefficient.
Besides, it works on "paper" but I have yet to see any large scale implementation of this idea. It has every chance of failing or succeeding as a next battery breakthrough paper of the week.

Once Toyota announces their first BEV's, these cars will be abandoned and forgotten. After that, when you can no longer fill the car because all H2 stations are gone, you'll have nothing but a tax writeoff when you donate it to a museum.
