It looks like Nvidia planned to release 3080 TI next month with better specs. Do we need to wait?
It's looking like the 3080 TI will hash rate limiter, so depending on if they find a workaround the 3080 may be more valuable to ethereum miners.

Purely a fluke but I ordered 2 of the minimum specs (i5, 8gb ram, 1tb hdd, 1000w psu, air cool, 3080) and got it for $1756 each + tax. Unfortunately this order needed to be done manually (i.e. no perksatwork points, no cashback) but felt happy with the deal and confirmed yesterday!
I managed to get the i7 8gb, liquid cooled , 256 ssd for only $48 more. Pricing is completely inconsistent. Was also able to get 5% cb from chase.

yeah it seems purely dependent on who you get - I remember my first attempt via chat led to the minimum specs at $1906 or something which was ~6% off so there isn't any consistency.
You got a good deal for ~$1900 with i7 ($150 upgrade), liquid ($50), 256gb ssd ($20)!

You and everyone else. Everyone coming to slickdeals and posting these 3080 deals from dell don't understand that they will not actually ship.

I've done it twice now. Both times they delayed my shipment every month. My first order took 5 months of delays before they finally cancelled and gave me a crappy 10% coupon that expires in June. Everyone on reddit knows not to bother posting these dell builds because dell doesn't ship. They simply take your payment information, add you to their mailer list, sell your information to other companies, cancel your order and enjoy the profits of their farmed mailer list of people who want the latest technology.

Dell is trash tier right now, hell I'd even trust Newegg over Dell when it comes to 3080 products, and that's embarrassing to say.

https://www.ign.com/articles/dell...-hot-price [ign.com] <- IGN did an article on this already. It was full of $1500 3080 builds and links.

Trust me, these guys aren't shipping. Feel free to reply here with a picture of it actually arriving if you think you can prove me wrong.
Strange thing is, I ordered the R10 deal a month or two ago and I received my computer in about a week. I have been happy as hell with Dell and could not say a single word about my HP desktop that I purchased last summer that I just received my money back for. That rig was a piece of garbage and I would never buy HP again.

These Dell machines are great! My Dell i9 3080 R11 arrived yesterday.
Out of the box, not the best.. when mining, it was about 106 to 110 degrees on the card memory. But as long as you are willing to put in an hours work, you can turn these machines into a nice experience
1. I modified the GPU to include paste between the two metal plates. This has brought the GPU memory temp down to 84 degrees.
2. Replaced the front fan with an Artic P12. It fails on bios, but just escaped out of it, still boots fine.
3. Adjusted undervolt settings with afterburner. See attached pic.
4. Set a custom fan curve for the top stock fan in the Alienware app. Sort of a balance between keeping things cool and jet sound mode. I have a replacement fan for the top, but I didn't have time last night to complete as that looks more involved.

Result - around 99 MH/s with cool temps of 48 on the GPU and 80 on the Vram, 233 watts.

The PC will mainly be used for gaming for my sons, but it will crunch in the background to help with the cost of the unit. The PC represents good design for its size in my opinion, and there is no way I could have built one myself as elegantly with the cable management for the price and time involved. These Dell units represent reasonable value and I don't foresee any heating issues as reported by the masses. Just FYI in case you are on the fence.
The R11 arrives mid April, and will rinse and repeat the minor mods. Have fun with your builds everyone! See pic.
I hope when the R11 arrives if you have time to actually make a youtube video on how to do these minor modifications so we can all follow your footsteps. I'd appreciate that!

Word on the street is contact Dell Chat and see if they can get you close. I can get within $100 of original deal right now, goi long through the steps manually. I didn't try any coupon codes though as I don't have any, and the 50of699 code is dead. But if you contact through Dell chat I bet they give you basically the same deal anyway.

Sure, I'll try to do that. It might also help for the guy above who needs photo proof that Dell orders get fulfilled, lol. It seems like some folks might have either really bad luck, or there are payment issues or more to the story.
We've recently ordered both the Lenovo 5i tower (great by the way) and the Dell R11 desktop within the last month or two, and both arrived within timing expectations. Don't get dissuaded by the <5% having order procurement issues, or folks not willing to do the time or research to improve their system. This thing seems to run great with some minor effort.

Will look to make a rough cut video for you when the R12 arrives and provide some how-to steps (R12 is the next system, my typo above).

What's your expected arrival date? Has yours gone into production yet?

The Intel 11th gen processor is not even released yet. The processor's release date is March 30th.
