yes, this is the bargain bin version of tide. Still "tide" but nowhere near the same cleaning power
Also, this is pretty much the normal pricing since it is on sale just about every other week or so

Is this like the "fake" Tide? Aka the cheap stuff? (No, I am not a detergent snob lol)

Correct, this is like regular tide they cut in half. Better to wait for deal on same size full strength tide for $3
I agree that the $3 is better than this $2 version. I would wait for the $3 sale at Walgreens or your local supermarket. I feel like I've seen regular tide on sale more often now. In the last 4 months I've accumulated about 10 bottles just causally buying them.
It tends to be less concentrated I've noticed. Stain removal is sub-par. Not much to expect for $2 Tide though.
For regular washing this detergent works fine. I haven't found that regular Tide does any better. Personally I prefer this Tide with April Fresh Downy fabric softener for the scent. If I have really dirty clothes to wash that this might not get clean, I usually jump to detergents that are even more powerful than regular Tide.
Just wanted to add, this is a good price, regardless, but the Tide in the yellow bottles (Simply Clean) has been poorly rated by Consumer Reports. Tide in the Orange bottles, esp #1 rated Tide Ultra Plus Stain Release, or Tide Ultra Oxi (#3), or the very well rated Persil detergents (which go on sale at Walgreens quite a lot) are a better deal - when on sale.
To give you an idea, Tide Clean & Fresh was rated one point above Xtra (that cheap stuff you often find in the Dollar Stores), and 1 point below Purex Dirt Lift (bargain basement 7 cents an ounce detergent).
Still a good price at $2, but, personally, I'd wait for a deal on Tide Ultra or Persil.
I already have a LifeTime supply of these, they work great and small great with OxiClean power. Not sure how dirty other people get their clothes but this stuff is plenty.
Front-load washer owners be careful! There is no HE logo however, the ad says this detergent is HE-compatible. I think I'll wait on this "new" detergent and see what others are claiming on its true cleaning ability. Also, at 31oz, unless you have a medical condition that doesn't allow you to lift heavier detergent bottles, that's a lot of plastic "waste" in such a small container...
