I don't hate this set. The 7 1/4" saw is so much better than the 6 1/2" and all brushless XR tools is good, the flashlight is ok, and I like to have a couple smaller batteries around, so I like the 2.0Ah. I would buy this if I didn't have everything already.
Those batteries make the deal average. A couple 5aH or even some of the new 4s it's solid. I won't consider a kit with the smaller batteries unless it's a killer deal

Lukewarm deal if you need these four tools right now, but there should be hackable deals right around the corner for each one in the next few months.
For context, the equivalent kit in Makita subcompact was available for a loooooong time on clearance for $199 in store; and just last month, it was sold for $250 online with a 5ah battery (I used a coupon and returned the battery to get the whole kit for $118!)
So if you don't need all four and/or can wait, it's a virtually guaranteed to be cheaper in the near future.
Edit: the Makita kit had the 6 1/2 not 7 1/4 but my point stands. Wait a little longer if you can.

There is a new 6.5" dewalt that is brushless but not XR. I like it for size and the blade is on the left, which I prefer.

Agreed. I have the 6.5" tool and it is a joke. The blade binds and stops all the time. Al least I am safe from kickback, the tool isn't powerful enough to kick back!

I have the 791 and 887, and they are very nice. I use a 5AH battery and it seems like it lasts forever. I think two smaller batteries would be nice also as I only have one 5AH and it sucks to switch it out repeatedly on certain projects.
The 791 and 887 are more than enough for what you need. If you do some serious projects they are great; I am using them on a pergola now. If you are turning a screw here and there you can get something cheaper no doubt.

These extra tool kits are something you could buy in addition later for same price basically.
