Its like saying, "but there's no number keypad, that might be an issue for me..." While its pretty standard that neither of these options/features are available on the smaller sized laptops.
If either is important for ya, you'll have better luck with the larger 15.6"+ sized ones. Obviously, you're sacrificing the portability, weight and what not of the compact ones but if you need RAM or a keypad, that's the only option.

Reasonable weight, and I'm assuming battery life is going to be good based on 11th gen and 4 cell/65w battery. If this was 16GB ram, it'd be a no-brainer, 12 is good... It just provides a bit of pause.
Any experience from current users or previous Yoga users?
I currently have the Yoga 6 and have really been enjoying it, however, the specs are entirely different so not sure it's a great comparison. Previous to that I had a Gen 1 X1 Yoga (work) and really enjoyed that as well but again, we aren't comparing apples to apples.
Unless you intend to do some intense 4k video editing or hardcore gaming, I dont think the soldered ram should sway you. I would've preferred to be able to upgrade the ram in my Yoga 6 (only 8gb) but it checked every other box, so I conceded at the sale price of $550 for that machine.
From what Im reading the main complaint is the dim 300 nits screen.
Im personally a little warry of Lenovo ever since the screen flicker in my Yoga 730.

Yoga 7i is an aluminum body - flex 5 - plastic
another difference is ports - fewer ports on the Yoga - actually i'm disappointed that there is no SD (or MicroSD) card reader - since i use that as an easy way to add storage.
