Costco has several book sets lower than you'll find anywhere else. Robert Dahl set of 16 books is only $33 (a bit over $2 a book), magic treehouse 15 books for $33 (a bit over $2 a book) or Disney books for $28 for 30 books (less than a dollar a book). Many more options including Harry Potter and hunger games included. If you buy 2 sets you get an additional $6 off, 3 sets $12 off, or 5 sets $25 off. Shipping is free.
Usually when a book sucks it stops getting printed. Most books are out of print. That's how books fail to "stand the test of time".
The bible is a rare exception, it has never gone out of print because lots of folks are christian/jewish/muslim.
The Jungle doesn't suck, actually. Depressing is not the same thing as bad. It is also still topical, since the US is still in a huge political battle over regulation, safety-nets, and socialism vs capitalism.
Anyway, I don't mean to defend/attack cancel culture, I just want to give some perspective as a book-lover.
I purchased a 5 book collection from the same author at the same vendor a few years back... I was very disappointed with the content of some of the stories. Now a days, it seems you have to be careful with every thing that is meant for kids.
The Dahl collection is great. I've read all but 2 to my 8 year-old. It's great seeing how he has incorporated bits of his childhood into just about every book. Danny the Champion of the World is probably our favorite, as it's very relatable since we lost my wife and his mother last year.
GTF off the internet. Hunger Games takes place in a dystopian society. Not ours. Stay away from Harry Potter, they use MAGIC in those ones. 🙄
Hunger games is allegorical of our country. Highly stratified society where the poor compete against each other for survival while the very wealthy watch from their ivory tower. That is late stage capitalism in a nutshell.

Quite a different premise. Not really comparable 2000s garbage versus classic English literature.
