This former front page deal is back! Eligible for Lifetime Service Agreement because it is a kit with a charger. I purchased it the last time and I already have LSA confirmed.

Updating title to YMMV because it appears it may be store pickup only in some locations.

This is the newly released version of Ridgid's standard capacity battery (thanks x_workman_x). The new higher output version is the "Max Output". The new batteries are backwards compatible with the previous 18v lines (regular and Octane), and older 18v batteries are forward compatible with the new line of tools they are releasing.

ICYMI, Ridgid is retiring the "Octane" line and revamping with the Max Output tools, which are supposed to be a little more compact and brushless.

Your comment cannot be blank.

Thanks for posting OP! I've been waiting for this deal to come back.

To all the newcomers to the Ridgid line, don't forget to register the batteries online for the Lifetime Service Agreement (LSA). Some folks assume the lifetime warranty is automatic -- nope. No lifetime warranty unless you register WITHIN 90 DAYS of the purchase date.

-J
Octane batteries are only supposed to be noticeably different when paired with Octane tools.
To be clear, all 18v Rigid batteries are supposed to work with all 18v Rigid tools.
I have the Octane saw and I cannot make a full depth cut on a non octane battery but the Octane battery makes the same cut and doesn't stall.
Ship to home available from most MN locations.
I already have too many batteries but it's a decent deal

I love the $257 suggested retail. What nonsense

What is LSA ?
How did that return work? did you have to ship them back to Ridgid?

THanks!
LSA = Lifetime Service Agreement

Ridgid shipped me a new 2.5 Ah Ni-Cad 18v battery pack with instructions to take the old 1.2 Ah pack to Home Depot for recycling. No charge. HD has a couple of battery recycling bins next to their return counter. No need to wait in line to dump them. But now that I have two 2.0 Ah lithium packs and two 4 Ah lithium packs, I don't see me using the Ni-Cad pack much. It's huge and it's heavy.

I have had ridgid as a homeowner and I had to use their warranty on my batteries and it's no trouble at all as long as you go their their registration process. If you do not provide everything they will not grant the replacement.

From my understanding, the Octane batteries used the larger and more powerful 21700 cells, whereas the Max batteries reverted back to the weaker 18650 cells.

Thanks. PIcked one up. I'm trying to build a Ridgid line of tools purely for their LSA.

If you have an Amex Platinum card, don't forget about the $50 credit. Makes this package less than $60 after taxes for me. Just wish I could also apply a military discount online like I can with Lowes.

Explain Amex platinum deal please. Is it valid for Optima platinum card?

I want to get into Ridgid. This seems like I should buy this 2pk 4 this and get a bare tool to start. Is the octane series a noticeable difference? Thanks

If it makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside to get the higher end stuff, then go for it. Otherwise, if you're just a weekend warrior or just do projects from time to time, the regular line is highly likely to be fine. I got into Ridgid essentially for the warranty. If there's a particularly good deal for the higher end stuff, then I'd go for that.

I got this deal 03/04/21. If you are into the Ridgid ecosystem then this is a great deal. The best part is these 18v batteries are compatible with the old Ni-Cad 18v battery tools. Even though Ridgid will replace 18v Ni-Cad batteries if you have LSA, these new Lithium batteries have more amp/hrs, are lighter and are smaller. They breathe new life into your old Ridgid Ni-Cad tools. I received my LSA confirmation for this kit yesterday, 03/30/21.

Was the deal from March the same (newer version) of the battery? Trying to decide if I need to return those for these.

No idea. The batteries I received are model #R87004 if that helps. The charger is R86093.
