I have settled on both. There's strengths and weaknesses to each and can't imagine dropping either. The cashback at Costco exec more than covers my
Membership. Sams we don't shop at as much but there are some items that are simply only there that we buy regularly like huge boxes of strawberry uncrustables and Smithfield bacon lol.

Quoted... "When you buy shrimp, whether fresh or frozen, the size designation isn't standard and its best to use count per pound. When you see 41/50 on the packaging of frozen shrimp, that means there are 41 to 50 shrimps per pound. U15 means there are less than 15 shrimps per pound. The fewer shrimps per pound, the larger they are. Here's a quick overview:"

Look at attached excel sheet. Also full article here [jessicagavin.com].

Wife bought it last week. It's much thinner compared to what Costco always carries, and does not absorb much water at all. I do not recommend it.

That means just different size. Same taste and texture?
That I am not sure. I am not a shrimp aficionado. But I know that wild caught shrimps are healthier than farm raise shrimps. IMO.

The ad says the Cascade Mtn. Tech matress is $21 after $10 discount, but online it says $31 after $10 discount.

Any opinion on the beef lasagna?
Our Costco sells beef and also the sausage lasagna. Some in our family prefer the beef and others prefer the sausage because it's a little spicy. Both well worth the convenience of not making homemade.

The beef comes in an aluminum pan. Sausage comes in a paper-coated 'pan' that stinks pretty bad after baking in the oven. We usually transfer the sausage to a 9x11 glass pan and it melts into place when baked.

Any opinion on the paper towels? I always see it on sale but was wondering if it's worth it. Towel size seems small but how is the durability and quality?
Once I tried the Kirkland paper towels as bounty was out of stock. Everyone in the family noticed how rough they felt and asked me to never buy them again.

I found out last month that a friend uses paper towels to dry dishes. If you're using them just to pick up water, go to the automotive section at Costco and pick up a pack of the yellow microfiber towels. They're for drying your car off after you wash it, and are super-absorbent. I got them for the car, but they work so well that I've replaced most of my kitchen towels with them. Just toss the used ones in the laundry for re-use, and replace them with fresh ones.

What's with all the costco postings? Am I missing out for being a Sams member?
Yes. Costco pays their employees well and gives them benefits. They also have consistently superior products and their return policy can't be beat.

It's not that their necessarily healthier in terms of cholesterol and whatnot, wild is better because they have a cleaner diet and are lower in toxins and have naturally grown instead of being cramped in the containment area where they farm them

Has anyone done a thorough comparison of Costco vs Aldi? I've kicked around the idea of getting a Costco membership but from what I've read aldi has similar prices and no membership fee. And, it's closer so it's been a tough sell.

So for us, we have a Costco executive and Sams club plus membership. We pay $220/year for it. We shop at Costco about 4 times a year(we might downgrade it to the gold membership) and Sams club regularly. We use the Costco visa everywhere and the new Sams club plus 2% gets us even more money back. We upgraded to Sams club plus last year because they offer free car washes to plus members only at my club. Easily in car washes pays for the Sams membership and my Costco card gets 1% back on everything even at Sams. Been a member since 2008 at Costco and have been debating about canceling it and just switching to the double cash back card. If they raise the fee again, probably happen.

Yeah Costco is nice, Sams club is pretty good too. Aldi is off brand stuff. We normally just get fresh food there.
