Membership. Sams we don't shop at as much but there are some items that are simply only there that we buy regularly like huge boxes of strawberry uncrustables and Smithfield bacon lol.
Look at attached excel sheet. Also full article here [jessicagavin.com].

Sams - free membership and scan and go
Aldi- fantastic prices on Veggies. Aldi finds can be good
Shop all three but spend most at Costco
Costco is usually okay for TV. They tend to have the newer models at decent prices. I would not recommend store puchases of laptops, monitors, printers, etc... Usually, one has to wait for a sale before Costco is competitive. They do offer quality and easy return. About the only time I buy electronics from Costco is online sales offers.
One should walk thru the store when shopping at Costco. Sidewalk pickup defeats the purpose of finding bargains. Any items with coupons are usually worthwhile if one can use it. Otherwise, probably cheaper at Aldi or BOGO at supermarkets. Never buy paper goods or Kcups at Costco. Better off using ink recycling dollars from Staples or OD.
Certain items like high-end seafood, steaks and lamb chops are great. The $10/pound large shrimp is a bargain. Not sure if prices have gone up. Every so often, they have good sale on pork or ribs.
Costco furniture is very good. They have quality pieces at basically closeout prices. Always amazing to me what shows up. Caveat - they are one time offerings. Make sure one buys enough matching pieces. Otherwise, will never show up again.
Of course, there is clothing and shoes. Continual changing of stock and great sale items.
I don't use the optical department. But understand they are decent.
Before Covid, I used to do the hot dog with drink. The rotisserie chicken is pretty much a given. Miss the free food samples.
Then why go into and post in a Costco thread?
Benfits of Sam's:
1) Scan and go app is amazing. Costco has nothing like it and it's always a sea of people waiting to check out.
2) Standard red meat (hamburger, steaks) is better and cheaper at Sam's in my opinion
3) This may not apply to you, but Sam's is more conveniently located for us and there are more around. Costco is always a hike
4) I have had some incredibly helpful associates at both Costco and Sam's, but Costco seems to attract more with a superiority complex. Makes me feel like they are doing me a favor by allowing me to shop there.
Benfits of Costco:
1) I think the non-grocery quality is better, and sometimes there are some incredible deals that show up on the shelves.
2) Much better seafood and produce selection, but we rarely buy this stuff in bulk so not much of an issue for us.
3) Optical center is a pretty good deal.. lot of extras thrown in for the base price. I have not tried buying glasses at Sam's yet.
4) Our sams does not have gas but both are nearly always 10 to 20 cents cheaper.

I usually like Aldi too and they normally have sales on fruits.
I think peeps are just stuck on the idea that everything in Costco is cheaper. NOT always the case. But peeps are lazy, they just assume they have the best deals since they have to pay for the membership

The 13-15 count frozen shrimp is $8/pound after discount, 4 lb bags. It is a bargain.
There's a Lenovo for the same price, and some same specs, listed here: https://www.costco.com/lenovo-ide...95129.htm
One better than other, or about the same?
