I have settled on both. There's strengths and weaknesses to each and can't imagine dropping either. The cashback at Costco exec more than covers my
Membership. Sams we don't shop at as much but there are some items that are simply only there that we buy regularly like huge boxes of strawberry uncrustables and Smithfield bacon lol.
Quoted... "When you buy shrimp, whether fresh or frozen, the size designation isn't standard and its best to use count per pound. When you see 41/50 on the packaging of frozen shrimp, that means there are 41 to 50 shrimps per pound. U15 means there are less than 15 shrimps per pound. The fewer shrimps per pound, the larger they are. Here's a quick overview:"

Look at attached excel sheet. Also full article here [jessicagavin.com].
Wife bought it last week. It's much thinner compared to what Costco always carries, and does not absorb much water at all. I do not recommend it.

Would any current Costco members recommend a membership if all I'm really interested in buying is AV equipment and such? In other words... I have no need for a 5000 count of twizzlers... ok, maybe twizzlers but nothing else. Worth it?
I do not believe a Costco membership is worthwhile just for AV. But, usually the gas savings pays for a membership. Especially if one uses premium.

Costco is usually okay for TV. They tend to have the newer models at decent prices. I would not recommend store puchases of laptops, monitors, printers, etc... Usually, one has to wait for a sale before Costco is competitive. They do offer quality and easy return. About the only time I buy electronics from Costco is online sales offers.

One should walk thru the store when shopping at Costco. Sidewalk pickup defeats the purpose of finding bargains. Any items with coupons are usually worthwhile if one can use it. Otherwise, probably cheaper at Aldi or BOGO at supermarkets. Never buy paper goods or Kcups at Costco. Better off using ink recycling dollars from Staples or OD.

Certain items like high-end seafood, steaks and lamb chops are great. The $10/pound large shrimp is a bargain. Not sure if prices have gone up. Every so often, they have good sale on pork or ribs.

Costco furniture is very good. They have quality pieces at basically closeout prices. Always amazing to me what shows up. Caveat - they are one time offerings. Make sure one buys enough matching pieces. Otherwise, will never show up again.

Of course, there is clothing and shoes. Continual changing of stock and great sale items.

I don't use the optical department. But understand they are decent.

Before Covid, I used to do the hot dog with drink. The rotisserie chicken is pretty much a given. Miss the free food samples.

Sorry, I'm not going to drive 30+ minutes to a Sam's when I have a Costco within less than 5 minutes of my home.

Then why go into and post in a Costco thread?

What's with all the costco postings? Am I missing out for being a Sams member?
We have both, but if I had to give up one I would keep Sam's club

Benfits of Sam's:
1) Scan and go app is amazing. Costco has nothing like it and it's always a sea of people waiting to check out.
2) Standard red meat (hamburger, steaks) is better and cheaper at Sam's in my opinion
3) This may not apply to you, but Sam's is more conveniently located for us and there are more around. Costco is always a hike
4) I have had some incredibly helpful associates at both Costco and Sam's, but Costco seems to attract more with a superiority complex. Makes me feel like they are doing me a favor by allowing me to shop there.

Benfits of Costco:
1) I think the non-grocery quality is better, and sometimes there are some incredible deals that show up on the shelves.
2) Much better seafood and produce selection, but we rarely buy this stuff in bulk so not much of an issue for us.
3) Optical center is a pretty good deal.. lot of extras thrown in for the base price. I have not tried buying glasses at Sam's yet.
4) Our sams does not have gas but both are nearly always 10 to 20 cents cheaper.

I will always renew my Costco membership because they always say "Nice cock!" At checkout and you can't put a price on that.

Has anyone done a thorough comparison of Costco vs Aldi? I've kicked around the idea of getting a Costco membership but from what I've read aldi has similar prices and no membership fee. And, it's closer so it's been a tough sell.

I usually like Aldi too and they normally have sales on fruits.

Came to post same, and given this is a US chain, I was surprised so many folks up at 2AM Jonesing for Costco. I think they have medication for this (@ Costco). . .

I think peeps are just stuck on the idea that everything in Costco is cheaper. NOT always the case. But peeps are lazy, they just assume they have the best deals since they have to pay for the membership

Costco is typically the cheapest 80% of the time and even better on high end items. It's for the lazy slickdealer, get amazing amounts of value with no effort. I say the same about credit cards, I could sign up for 10 and get more cash back, but I sign up for the Costco one and get 80% of it with no effort.

How much is the shrimp in warehouse?
Not sure if anyone already answered this already.

The 13-15 count frozen shrimp is $8/pound after discount, 4 lb bags. It is a bargain.

How's the Inspiron listed above in OP? - Online at: https://www.costco.com/.product.1424620.html

There's a Lenovo for the same price, and some same specs, listed here: https://www.costco.com/lenovo-ide...95129.html

One better than other, or about the same?
