Assuming you are unfamiliar with the candy and not being sarcastic, there is no raw egg in the product so you don't need to worry about getting sick.
These were my favorite candies from when I was a kid and they're one of those memories I'm worried to try again and find out they're actually horrible haha.
I don't think it's fair to say they are a huge disappointment; you remembered them incorrectly.
Also, were you expecting cookie dough coated in chocolate to not be sweet?

In fairness, it does seem like companies add more and more sugar to, well, pretty much everything nowadays. So it's entirely possible the recipe today is more sugar-heavy than when we had this as a kid ::\

FWIW, these are 89 cents at the Target near me, per box. 12 boxes is $10.65, but you don't have to buy 12 that way. I bought 1 box about a month ago, and so far my family of four hasn't finished it, so the product really hasn't been a hit around here. 12 boxes would have been a bit of overkill.
These are literally sold at the dollar store (tree) for a buck. Realistically, you're saving $3 for buying a bunch of candy in bulk. These things aren't usually $26 and if so, it's because they're being resold on Amazon.

Theater boxes are regularly sold in stores, so I don't really think that'll be a concern.
