Only the Platinum card. Also this is in-house cell phone insurance by Amex, Visa and Mastercard's cell phone insurance is administered 3rd party and they are a pain to deal with
To get coverage:
You must charge your monthly Eligible Cellular Wireless Telephone bill to your Eligible Card Account. You are eligible for coverage the first day of the calendar month following the payment of your Eligible Cellular Wireless Telephone bill using your Eligible Card Account. If you pay an Eligible Cellular Wireless Telephone bill with your Eligible Card Account and fail to pay a subsequent bill using your Eligible Card Account in a particular month, your coverage period changes as follows:
Seems to be AIG subsidiary, "Coverage is provided by New Hampshire Insurance Company, an AIG Company."

Can you give me some more details on this please? Thanks!
Not the op, but after his post, I called my homeowner's insurance company ('Progressive Home'/Homesite) and added what they call "Special Computer Coverage" that covers loss of use from theft, vandalism, even accidents like liquid spills and drops. It added just under $14 to my annual premium.

It's an additional coverage separate from personal property.

Not as good as the Chase Sapphire Reserve which offers Primary rental coverage for free. I have been using it for almost 10 years prior to that I used it on the Sapphire Preferred. The Preferred does exclude luxury cars and more importantly they offer coverage outside the US as well. This saves me quite a lot of money every year.

I do think if you have had the Amex Platinum over the last year or so and actually use the benefits it has far outweighed the annual fee.

Even though I have a Sapphire I generally pay the $15 for the Amex premium rental protection. Unlike the Sapphire , the Amex provides coverage for medical and personal property. Most medical insurances don't cover treatment outside the country and there's always the risk of someone breaking into my car and stealing my luggage.

For AT&T, I am doing auto pay on a CC and am still getting the 10 dollar discount. I'm not sure how other wireless companies do it.
It depends on your plan. My grandfathered unlimited plan w/ $25 discount on TV and Free HBO Max automatically takes away my autopay discount if I pay with CC. I can do partial CC payments, but I'm not sure the Amex coverage would apply if the full bill is not paid with Amex.

Q: do you own your own business, or travel a lot outside of work? Every Corp I've worked for has a company credit card, so this doesn't work. Only small companies I've been at let you do this.
100% of my leisure travel is outside of work. I love Centurion lounges.

Off topic but does anyone know what the Apple credit card is and if I'd qualify for any bonuses that pop up from time to time? Thanks

I've used the freedom flex (free card) coverage and it's pretty easy. They just need a receipt showing the repair quote. Ubreakifix has no issues getting you a free estimate on the spot. As long as you paid the PRIOR month's bill with your card, you're good for the coverage.

They don't need proof of where you got the phone or what you used to pay for it. I straight up asked the shop to replace *everything* in my note 9. Screen, battery, charging port, back cover, and stylus. Came out to about $480 (LOL). Only paid $50 deductible.

Amex warranty services have become MUCH less user friendly since 2020, when all their free cards dropped the coverage. Even calling their phone number you get put through more hoops than back in the day.

I have this card and had no idea. I guess I just have to have partial or full payment on the card every month?
Full payment every month. When you file a claim, they will ask for last three months statements to verify if you paid. If you didn't, your claim will be rejected.

How do you opt in for this? I only see that it offers secondary coverage on my blue cash card.
The higher Amex cards may have Primary, but Amex Rental benefit is secondary insurance for the Blue Cards. The card I use for primary is Chase Sapphire. There might be more, but it's uncommon for sure.

Edit, I see that other Amex cards may have Primary coverage.

The amex cards offer additional cost primary coverage... the Chase Sapphire ones are the only I'm aware of that offer primary coverage at no added cost.

Verizon says you lose the $10 discount if you pay via CC, but I've never actually tried it.

Anybody with Verizon using a CC and still getting the $10 auto pay discount?

this is true. I moved my verizon bill to Amex when they had the $20/month refund and I lost $40 off my bill since autopay went from a debit card to credit card, I have four lines and get $10 off each per month.

REI MC covers the protection if you pay the bills using their CC. My S8 stopped working. I filed a claim using the quote Samsung provided. It was $479. Deduction is $50. I got $429. Originally I had only paid $375 on a brand new S8.
Where do you find the value of your Samsung? I have an S6 edge and I don't know if it's even worth anything anymore.

Does your S6 Edge still work fine? Not sure what exactly are you asking.
