It requires a proprietary adapter though, the dewalt one takes a standard 3-prong extension cord.

Meanwhile, at 2400CFM, the Ryobi 18" Air Cannon [homedepot.com] is by far the winner...... It puts out like 5 to10 times the air of any of the competitors on battery or cord. When it comes on sale this summer, as it has been, I am thinking that is the one I want.... On the job site, the Milwaukee, DeWalt, Ridgid, small Ryobi, etc., are all toys in comparison.

PS: This Milwaukee, at 284 CFM is about half of the DeWalt at 500 CFM (that we have) and neither is remotely comparable to the Ryobi Air Cannon.

Dewalts got the newest one out. I would expect Milwaukee to be coming out with a new one soon. I would like to see that feature and higher CFMs in the next gen from Milwaukee. Once you're on a tool platform best to stick with it. I will say this one moves some air. Very impressed with it. Haven't seen the dewalt one yet. But the specs are good

I did notice on the Dewalt box yesterday that it is IP54 rated, which besides the Ryobi mister, none are rated. I'm 80% Milwaukee (rest Ego and Ryobi), and the Dewalt is the best fan in this class. Variable knob, extension cord hookup, great construction. At retail, I'd rather buy the Ryobi than the Milwaukee, and actually use one in my truck. It also has an extension connection. When I tried the Milwaukee, there was a "whirl" type noise that I didn't care for. Could have been just that unit, but between other factors, it went back.

There is a M12 fan coming, which I've suggested for years, that could coincide with an updated M18 model, and hopefully an M18 Fuel cannon similar to Ryobi. I've always pictured the m12 fan with a clip on it, could for a golf cart or maybe seeing a mail man use lol. Perhaps a model that oscillates.

Apple and apples on steroids. Air cannon is great, but it's in a different class of fan than the others. No one is putting an air cannon in their truck to use, or bring to a lawn concert to personally cool down (I think everyone wanted to steal my Ryobi 2 summers ago). And while it is constructed decently, it is much closer to a toy than than the Dewalt or Milwaukee. Both are much better at handling abuse. Air cannon is for volume moving, to circulate air in a house, where the other fans are for a person or small space.
Even if Milwaukee comes out with a M18 Fuel fan (fingers crossed), that was the size of most existing, it's never going to push what the cannon can.

but really when it's hot, and the air is stuck in pause, any of the fans are a god send

I got the kkbalt one to plug into a garden hose or sit on top of a 5 gallon with hose to use misting system I got for 20$ I feel that alone is better
