To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

So if I trade in some old (unbroken) flipphone for the 5G phone, I would need to stay with T-mobile for 24 more months or else I would pay the unpaid remainder of the $282?
That is correct. You will be billed for the remaining balance.

Quote from QkTreasures :
I've heard that you can cancel a line and or account & they credit you still each month?
If you cancel the account, there's no way for your account to be credited as the account doesn't exist. And if you do cancel the line that the "free phone" equipment plan is assigned to, you will lose the remaining promotional credits and the phone balance will be due.

So what say you Master Yoda of T-Mobile Line On Us? For those of us with the paid unlimited high speed data addon, will T-Mobile give it to us for free?
If you click on the reddit link in which Master Yoda posts, the answer is no. The reddit link is in the wiki.

So if you are on a grandfathered t-mobile plan with limited data and you're not switching to a 5G phone, you will still be switched to unlimited data and get to keep your grandfathered plan?

My old phone screen is not crack , but has a black spot on it, looks like it was developed inside, will tmobile take it?

Also, does tmobile provide a shipping label for us to send them the trade-in phone or we need to submit it to the local stores?

Someone once said that they canceled their account & tmo actually sent them a prepaid credit card for the credit each month? Idk if I fully believe that tho. Also didn't tmo used to say to contact them before canceling a line with a eip payment or credit to set it up a different way then?

I call BS. there's got to be more to that story or it is taken out of context.

If you cancel your account, I just do see any way T-mobile will find a way to credit you the remaining part of your promotion. i don't even see why they would want to. The terms are pretty laid out, cancel your line, lose your promotion. It makes perfect logical sense.

@DNARNA, so there we have it we won't qualify for the unlimited high speed data upgrade on our line with the paid unlimited high speed data addon. It's coming from Master Yoda so I'm pretty sure that's the case but I hope he's wrong. The good thing is I didn't drop the addon. It's a PIA to try to get it back. I may still try to drop it after the 18th if I don't get the free upgrade and try to use one of the SOC data addon codes to get it for $0; but I'll do that after I enable binge on on that line so the family member who uses that line won't go through his quota right away

Don't give up hope, it's not like he is the CEO of t-mobile or head of marketing giving this info out. But it makes sense for t-mobile to not take away an existing revenue in this promo.
Just like they won't make an existing paid line a free one in the free line promos. We will find out soon enough.

Right now, we don't even have a definitive answer on whether people who add a line with limited data after April 7 but before April 18 will get the free upgrade or not.

Yeah waiting for the 18th. The funny thing is I have one free line and another line I opened 1.5 years ago for the free iPhone 11 offer (I'm canceling this line after I get all my credits at the end of the year) thar will get the unlimited high speed data (they have limited LTE data). I wish I could "swap" the data option on one of these lines with the line I need to have the unlimited high speed data; I asked T-force and no go

Thanks for all of the info but may i ask where are you getting your info? Are you a t-mobile rep?

Also, some people have asked whether adding a line now after April 7 but before April 18 (without unlimited data) will get upgraded to unlimited data. Do you know the answer to this for sure?
I'm not a rep I just have sources 😉

I'm not sure about lines added after the 7th but my guess would be ineligible. But you may have luck asking T-Force to manually apply it after the 18th if it doesn't show up.

Nope. You may get lucky and find a rep to add it manually but ymmv. By default users with paid unlimited will remain paid.

If your guess is correct, i would say that is bad marketing. It would be a huge opportunity for them to increase their number of lines (and getting paid for it unlike the free lines promotion).

Plus, if new users migrating from other companies can get free upgrade to unlimited after the 18th but existing users cannot, it would be fuel for ATT with their "promos are good for new and existing customer" slogan.

Unless there is a credible way to confirm, the recurring bill credits isn't expected to be given when an account is closed.

OTOH, when I ported out my free Sprint lines in June last year, I had a service credit of a little over $1, and was sent a check. I wasn't expecting a service (courtesy) credit to be refunded on a closed account by T-Mobile. I deposited the check but keeping the paper copy as a souvenir. 😁

Yeah. I'm not holding my breath for the one line I downgraded. I just hope I didn't disqualify my other lines for the free upgrade. That would be a really disappointing. I can see them doing this though to prevent loss of revenue. In other words, if you downgrade any of your paid data add-ons, your free unlimited goes away on any other lines on the account. Would lock in their monthly profit from each customer.
