To uninstall many junk apps preloaded by Samsung:
- Download, install, and launch the Minimal ADB and Fast Boot tool on your PC.
- Download, install, and launch the App Inspector app on the phone.
- On your phone, go to Settings and tap on About Phone. Find the Build Number and tap on it 7 times to enable Developer Options.
- Enter Developer Options and enable USB Debugging.
- Connect the phone to the PC via the supplied USB cable.
- Change to "file transfer (MTP)" mode at the phone.
- You will see a prompt on your phone asking you to authorize a connection with the computer. Grant it.
- Enter the command "adb devices" (no ") at the command prompt (PC screen).
- Enter the command "adb shell" if you see the serial number of the phone displayed. If not, then remove/reconnect the USB cable, grant connection, and retype the "adb devices" command.
- Enter pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package> for the app that you want to uninstall as displayed in App Inspector.
For Example, to remove youtube: pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube
To restore youtube: cmd package install-existing com.google.android.youtube

Hopefully costco would give the cash deal. I hate the 24 months bill credit. Anybody know if my iPhone 11 has couple months to go, it would lose the bill credit if I pay it off early

LOL
I just paid off 3 iPhones on my EIP and the credits are still there !
The reason I paid off early is because I want to start these new EIPs on the same lines and also they unlock the iPhones/Androids as soon as you pay those off !
As soon as I paid those off online, I asked them to unlock/whitelist those and they did in like 5 mins !!!

All they need is fully paid off phones before unlocking as I mentioned above.

How is unlocking related to "bill credits"? They want to make sure you fully own (i.e. have paid in full) that device before unlock !

Yes, they never tested the FP scanner, you will be resetting it anyway before sending it so should be good in my opinion.

Well,
the ppl in this thread have like Magenta/T-Mo One plans with avg 25/line or even less than that in some cases (some folks even mentioned 10/line after the "plan upgrade"...lol). I myself have a full family of 12 lines with avg 25/line and since there is no "add a line" requirement in this promo, it's like a free phone for us !
Your calculation is based on wrong grounds i.e. "start the line only for skimming the device" which obviously they don't want hence the "24 bill credits" and hence Costco stopped matching T-Mo trade-in values due to skimmers !!!

Never heard anything like that. May be case-by-case basis then !
I always start EIPs and never received any alert from Credit companies (the way I get when I open a new credit card)!!
Thanks! Good to know.

You can only have one line level EIP promo credit deal going. So you'll have to pay off the EIPs to move the EIP promo credit to the account level in at least four of those lines. I have three promo credits on my one line, two account level and one line level.
But when you pay it off I assume they allow you to pay off the discounted amount? And the credits move to account level?

You can ask temporary unlock. If the rep is nice, he/she will submit a ticket for you and their offline team will unlock it. For iPhone, it will be permanent unlock as no temp unlock option.
Also, you need to wait for 2 or more billing cycles to submit the unlock request. My first unlock request got rejected as it's not hit 2 billing cycles yet. The 2nd one got approved as it's after 2 billing cycles. The phone got unlocked automatically after the unlock request got approved.
2 bill cycles as in the partial current cycle, another full cycle, then request on the cycle after that? 40 days?

The credits still apply monthly so you're paying off the full remaining balance without any discounts. Meaning if you still had 12 months of $15 credits and you owe $400 on it, you're paying $400 now to pay it off and you get a $15 credit toward your bill each month.

This doesn't make sense to me, 12 × 15 is 180. And if u owe 400 left, u pay off 400 to get 180 back?

Sigh. Not all phones are free after bill credits. If you agreed to buy a phone for say $700 and get back $360 over 24 months, yes, you will pay off MORE after 12 months than what you're getting back in remaining bill credits because the phone was never free.

$700 full price
$360 total credits

$350 remaining balance after 12 months, $180 remaining credits after 12 months.

Honestly, if understanding how EIP bill credits work is too difficult I'd just skip the deal. Let alone doing multiple EIP credit deals on the same line. For everyone else, paying off your current phone + promo to finance a new phone and get a new EIP promo is a good way to stack deals over the years.. assuming of course you don't intend to leave T-Mobile.

Wrong you can have multiple eip promotions on a line, currently have two on one line

Thanks for the explanation. Does the EIP promo credit automatically move from the line level to the account level immediately after you pay it off or do you have to contact T-Mobile?

I want to trade in a phone on EIP that has a remaining balance of 5 months left for an iPhone 12. I wonder if I pay off the phone today, would it be enough time to trade it in tomorrow for an iPhone 12 with a new EIP promo credit?

I'm probably going to do one A32 I guess... Just to use as a toy really to try apps or whatever. With the 720p screen and 4gb ram no one I would give this to for actual daily use. Well I take that back.. would be fine for parents but they bought Notes for some reason

Interesting. I just asked T-force and this was their response

I looked into the promotional details and I'm showing if you were to pay off that device balance and use that device as a trade in, or take advantage of a new promotion on that line, that would stop the current monthly credits from continuing.

If you were to pay off that device and not use it as a trade in or start a new promotion with that line, the monthly credits would continue to apply for the rest of the installment plan term.
I'd likely be doing the first scenario (pay off device balance and take advantage of new promo on line) so not sure that would work, unless I am reading it incorrectly.

I didn't get into the details on what 2 bill cycles mean. I just waited for 2 bills out which have the EIP info on the phone and then asked for unlock.

I'm also planning to do the first scenerio that you quoted below. Anyway, I can't find the original post of the quote below.

I just confirmed with T-Mobile chat that I'll still get my current phone promo credits from an existing promo if I pay off the remaining balance on that phone today and trade it in tomorrow. However, I'm going to double check the details of tomorrow's promo because of the quote above.
