Tempting and while I do love my Ryobi tools for the value they are, their consumables kind of suck comparatively speaking but if you are just using things once or twice at home they will work.

Definitely great as a catch-all starter set used around the house.

Nice assortment in there for anyone who doesn't already have bits. I have way too many smaller sets that it'd feel too redundant. I also kinda like having several smaller sets. I don't need to carry ALL bits around for a single project. If I'm doing masonry, I grab that set. If I'm doing cable runs, I'll grab my speedbor. If doing shelves, my regular titanium or black oxide, etc.

Still, this is a nice set and if I was getting started and didn't have a set (or needed new ones), this looks like a good buy.

I'll second this. I've had so many Ryobi bits snap on me without putting much strain on them, upgraded to better quality bits and I've only had 1 snap in the past year. If you're only drilling occasionally into soft woods like pine these will be fine though.

So far, the truest words I have read today.... Ryobi consumables are pretty much down at the bottom, but they have plenty of company.

For the homeowner, or new to tools, the selection is nice to define what 'you' use the most of to replace with better quality. If you don't break any, or quickly wear any out, that would indicate that one does not need better quality.... and makes this a deal of sorts.

Its true, they obviously aren't the best, but at 20 cent a bit what do you really expect. Obviously this is a great starter kit though. Mine arrived today.

Having used Ryobi drill bits, I really don't expect anything.... It does not matter if they are free, if they don't do the job.

Rhetorical and agreed, a starter set to define what you might need to then buy a better quality.

These bits are not great, I destroyed all the t20 bits in the set just trying to install a picture frame border around the deck and making one set of steps for my garage door. This was with pre drilling the holes for the screws.

The drill bits are decent, but the skinny ones snap and bend, fine for a few uses around the house but not even enough for a weekend warrior imo.

If I could go back in time, I'd spend my money on something better with bits that won't break after every use.

They are currently having a Buy 3 or More get 20% off deal (9 items eligible).

- I am not seeing this as an option - chose 3 tools from the OP post.

Does anyone have any link or pointers please ?
