Ya that's gonna be my major use for it. To get outside with the kids to a place like a park and while they play around, I can do something to instead just sitting there. Should be pretty cool to take when camping or backpacking as well.
Agreed. I had the Mavic Pro when it first came out and played with it for a bit. Unfortunately there are so many restrictions on where you can fly it that I barely flew it...so I sold it. I bought the Mini 2 last week to bring on trips just for fun. The price is right so if I can't use it as much then I won't feel like I wasted $1k for essentially a toy. The Mini 2 is so much easier to carry also that I'll probably end up bringing it with me more. It flies very well and captures good 4K video.
Yup, sounds about right.

The cord comes with the remote and hides inside of it when the transmitter is pushed in.
Look at what the camera sees bc it's small enough that you ll lose sight of it pretty quickly once it's a bit away from you. Fly it high enough if there are obstacles around and make sure your return to home altitude is adjusted accordingly as well. Navigating between obstacles is possible bc it's small but for for flying near objects it's helpful to have obstacle avoidance (which this doesn't have) or if you really want to fly close to things you ll want a FPV drone instead.
Doing a Youtube search for "mavic air fell out of sky" or any other brand/model can be educational.
