I've shucked several of these 10TB for my NAS and had zero issues. Saying this is WD low end is implying that they build them terrible on purpose to save money. That has never been my experience with WD or Seagate drives.

Easy store is just the best buy exclusive version of the elements. They have the same drives inside. The my book drives are supposedly better because they have a 3 year warranty and encryption. However the drives inside my book are usually the same as elements and easy store

Not sure why this didn't get boosted more. $15/TB is the golden standard. Not the best price ever, but def the line you should aim for if you need storage

Probably because it is "only" 10 TB.

Everybody seems to want 14TB & 16TB now.

Bought this from Amazon recently. Received a WD100EZAZ iirc. Helium filled drive. CMR. Yes it's shuckable.

Two major problems with this deal.

Elements. WD low end. Not recommended.

Newegg. Return policy is horrible.

Low end in what? Drive? Controller? Two year warranty unlike one year for Seagates. Helium filled shuckable drives and no forced encryption. Don't know what you are talking about.

Agree with the Newegg downside.

I though Elements and Easystore have the same internal drive that's shuckable?

Elements versus Easystore. Elements is the lower end of WD. Easystore is higher end.

With the 8tb going for $130ish this seems like a good deal.

Easystore makes two models. One for Best Buy to sell at a lower price and not compete.

If you follow WD for the past 30 years you will know that they make Elements line and Non Elements line of externals. Some of the non elements lines are Mybook and Easystore.

Elements is always their Value based drives. Always the lowest price. But I had the highest failure rates and the quality of the elements not as good as easystore.

However, still better than the seagate.
With all due respect, you are just spouting BS. Same drives in both Elements and Easystore as people have pointed out. When you say quality of the Elements - are you talking about the quality of the plastic casing? Smilie

This is how Internet myths start...
