Over 8 million copies have been sold as of Nintendo's last quarterly update. There won't be much demand. If you want a real scalper's dream, look at the physical versions of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and the Torna DLC.
Got those for cheap last year. It felt like noone even wanted those games. Got the XB 2 for $30 I think and the Torna CIB for $25. Then recently I went to gamestop and got their only copy of the Torna as well for way less than the scalper price. Lol
People keep complaining about "game preservation" but when a company actually does it, suddenly there's outrage over them not changing the games. Seems to me like people just want to complain about anything.
The outrage is about the price. Straight ports don't deserve a AAA game $60 price tag. If this had been a $40 MSRP there wouldn't have been any complaints.
It sold like a turd since the "updated graphics" turned out to just be slightly better textures and some antialiasing. Super Mario Galaxy is still a good game but 64 is too ugly for most people to want to play and Sunshine is passable but pretty far outside the normal Mario gameplay for a lot of people. With Bowser's Fury releasing shortly afterward most people who were interested picked 1 of the 2 offerings and the newer game won.
speak for yourself, i only have interest in playing 64. that's the mario i grew up with. i didn't even want to touch to other two growing up
LOL you're looking waaaaaay more into their words than expected
Production and shipment to distribute stopped 3/31. My guess is these will be available still into June from retailers. Most that super wanted have already bought it. Question is if a new Switch owner wants or a person that had other priorities is able to get to it.
Defer to my original reply;
This limited release is great for fans and collectors alike, enjoy your game there's nothing wrong with that.
That doesn't mean this release isn't a poorly emulated cash grab port.(See Dragon Quest I, II, III ports) The same mario games run better and look better on the Wii ü.
The timing of a 30fps vs 60fps jump is the same. 1 second still = 1 second you just have double the frames displayed in the one second.
Nintendo ain't preserving shit, look back at the Wii store titles lost unless you use homebrew. Sony headed the same road with PS3/PSVita store front and their future CMOS failures with PS4 physical and digital games. 🤦🏽
"Sony admits it made 'wrong decision' and will keep PS3, Vita stores open"
That's one of the most embarrassing stan takes I've ever read.
Why not keep them at 640x480 to also "replicate" them as when they first released lmfao.
There's literally no upside to lowering FPS. Or are you still one of those people living in 2008 where you think 30 fps is a more "cinematic" experience
Nintendo stopping the eShop sale of this title is in line with preservation?
WiiU running same titles in 1080p 60fps opposed to 720p 30/60fps is also in the name of preservation?
Nintendo Apologist please queue up to continue to open up your hearts and wallets to your saviors (-_-)=b
They crack me up. Never mind that Wiimote is the superior galaxy experience. Right when Nintendo is ready to moth ball Switch they'll release BotW II and Metroid Prime 4.
No, I'm one the people that know that changing the aspect ratio doesn't have an impact on gameplay, but increasing the FPS does change timing. They would no longer feel like their original games.

Actually people do ask to go back to 30 FPS for jumping in Dark Souls after modding it to go above, because the FPS is tied to the physics, something no one would have predicted.
Good points, but imo don't bother explaining to trolls.
Nintendo's profit margin must be huge on this game since they did nothing much to enhance them, didnt add much of anything extra and are just running them through an emulator. Practically Zero dev costs. I'm convinced the Nintendo execs have some internal bet to see how many times they can sucker people into buying the same exact game.

Same here, primarily bought to replay mario 64. Now I just wish 007 golden eye 64 would get a switch release.

Probably won't ever sell lower than 49.xx from retailers and definitely won't be lower from scalpers.....I mean resellers.
This would be for my son when he turns 6 shortly.

No one? Surely someone could have predicted it.
