These energy drinks usually add extra sodium because it's extremely important to replenish sodium that's left the body when exercising. It also allows for water retention. Runners often literally drink salt water before they head out for a runs.
In fact, if athletes were to follow your advice, they'd be at a much higher risk of getting heat stroke/exhaustion than any blood/heart related problems.
I understand if you are sedentary or have hypertension, but your average active person should be much more concerned with staying hydrated (which sodium significantly helps) than ingesting too much sodium, especially in hot weather.
Jeez people. Just order it or don't. So many weird replies here. These are great for hangovers
