I have the older black model & am spoiled, wont ever go back to not having one. No issues with LED light bulbs here.
I linked it to Amazon and now 90% of my deliveries are securely left in my garage (only works for packages delivered by amazon, not UPS/FedEx/USPS). I get a notification when they're 2 stops away, when they're delivering, and when it's been delivered. Plus the notifications from MyQ that the door was opened and closed.
We have the door on a schedule to close at 11pm for the rare times when we forget to close it. You can use the app to give out temporary access to your garage to friends/family assuming they have the app. No, you can't open it from Google home, but you can close it by saying, "Hey google, ask MyQ to close the garage door". This makes sense from a security point because you don't want someone standing outside an open window to be able to yell "Hey google, open the garage" and have it actually open the garage.
The app works great on my iphone xr. With FaceId it's about 3-4 seconds from the time I tap the app icon to when it's logged in and ready to send a command to the door. Door commands are basically instant. I have no idea why people are asking about working with LED lights. This thing doesn't have anything to do with your lights. It's basically just a universal garage door opener that's on wifi so you can send the open command via an app. The flashing LED light it has built into it is just a safety device to let anyone standing in the garage know the remote close is being triggered. But anyway, my garage door opener is wired to 4 large LED strip lights in my garage and they work exactly the same since installing this as they did before.
1: So I could check remotely that my garage door was closed.
2: So that I could open the garage if my remote's batteries were dead.
I connected it with simple commands and can just say "hey Google, open the garage" when I need to use it.
It's come up handy a couple of times when my batteries died one time, and when I was working in the yard and had to get something in the garage without having to go in the house and get dirt everywhere.
