people paying $50-60 bucks for an airfryer. spend a little more for an all in one like this that does way more

Appliance 1 makes thing hot + fan = convection oven
Appliance 2 makes thing hot + more fan = air fryer
Now the appliance manufacturers can sell you suckers a second appliance! Stop buying the hype drizzle
I think the QVC is the same version too. I bought another one from them as a backup. I'm a senior single guy and don't plan on using another type of oven anytime soon.
Set at 375 with the convection feature turned on, it cooks a large boneless, skinless, chicken breast to perfection in exactly 30 minutes. Set at 450 with convection it will thoroughly bake 5 medium sized, foiled wrapped russet potatoes in one hour.
It cooks 12 inch frozen pizzas perfectly using the temps and times suggested on the packaging.
First, it is not like air fryer. The convention fan is pretty light and just consider this a nice size toaster oven.
2nd and most important is that you will see many reviews indicting that the temperature is 25 to 35 degrees lower. That is true and seems to occur when the broiler pan is placed in the unit which appears to reflect heat back to the sensor. If you remove the broiler pan the temperature is more accurate. What you can do to get those drips is place a tin foil sheet on the bottom rack.
I believe that broiler pan acts like some reflector and creates issues with temp readings in the unit. I think it is a flaw in design. But you can find ways to fix that. Also you can put the wire basket on upper slide bar.
by the way, the wire basket is not stainless steel.
This is a good price for a large toaster oven.

In most cases I'm inclined to say that fan speed is not going to do much for heat exchange. All a fan accomplishes as far as heat is remixing the air around the food being baked. The air cools as it loses heat to the food and creates an insulating layer from the other hotter air. I'm inclined to think that the benefits of blowing faster are negligible. There is certainly a point of diminishing returns and I can't think of why the design for a convection oven wouldn't reach and stop at that point for heat exchange.
Probably the more useful aspect of the higher fan speed is moisture exchange. The higher fan speed will dry food more, helping it crisp. That combined with higher heat settings for air-fry recipes likely results in crispier fried like food in an air-fryer. Is it meaningfully different? A matter of taste I'd think. A convection oven will certainly provide you with crisp food too.
I can't believe SDers haven't mentioned boundary layer theory yet. Maybe not enough chemical/process engineers checking out SD. The faster fan reduces the thickness of the boundary layer both driving more of the set temperature to the food and stripping moisture better. These things do nothing to adjust the heat transfer from surface of food to inside of food which is why these large fans "fry" foods better even if their temperature set points are lower. These differences are just differences in the ability of different ovens to drive down the boundary layer thickness (shades of grey that someone arbitrarily calls air fryer vs convection oven).
Still, I got decently good information out of this debate. Thanks to all those who cared enough to share/participate.
I lean more to the camp that maintains that a pressure washer is different from a high pressure nozzle you can put on your garden hose (which is also not same as a garden hose, more of a step-up).
Cheers!

Lol sorry, I keep posting very strong opinions because I listened to all the hype on previous discussions and bought a higher end convection oven, thinking it can act as an air fryer. It turned out its ability to air fry is nowhere close to a standalone air fryer. So if people are looking buying this thinking it can air fry, I just don't want them to make the same mistake I did.

Not exactly true. Air Frying is just a name rebrand for Convection Baking. They're both the same thing.
The only difference is size. Smaller "air fryers" just might work faster. But both do the same thing. (Circulate hot air)
