Over the decades, players have been continually inspired by the sound of a Strat. From the clarity of the high end, through the gut punch of the mids and the solid lows, it's a sound that's helped define what an electric guitar should be—versatile enough for any style and broad enough for any player to find an individual voice. This Limited-Edition Player Series Stratocaster puts all of the classic features of the Strat at your fingertips while adding a modern edge, plus a bridge position humbucker for a little more rock-and-roll attitude. With a beautifully flamed maple top over a solid alder body, a 22-fret maple fingerboard with a contemporary 9.5" radius for easy bending and an updated 2-point fulcrum tremolo bridge, the Player Series Stratocaster Plus Top is primed and ready to carry you along your musical voyage.

If you're the kind of Strat player who wants more punch out of the bridge position, this distinctive Limited-Edition Fender Standard HSS Stratocaster is made for you. It's got that classic look and feel that only a Strat can deliver, with the added muscle of a humbucking pickup, so you can go from glassy single-coil tones to heavyweight growl and scream with the flip of a switch. This special Strat features a cool look with Blue Burst finish and Black pickguard. Case sold separately.

That's still not that cheap for a Mexican made Strat.
Oh how the times have changed. These were regularly on sale for 549 before fender jacked up their MSRP.
Agreed, MSRP over $800 for a Mexican Strat is crazy. Considering that when Player Series came out couple years ago these were $600-650 MSRP.

For $800 I'd rather find a pre-owned American Strat.

I don't think we will see those low price in the past. Everything is costly now. Fender raised $50 on their Player series guitar. I was able to grab the Fender Player Stratocaster HSS Pau Ferro Fingerboard Limited Edition Candy Red at $600 after $180 discount a couple of months ago.

MSRP went up big time, hence the deal prices. The deals you used to see in $500 range are not coming back.

USA-made Strats are now over $1000 MSRP. You can still find used ones for $700-800 in good condition, that's the way to go.

Simple supply and demand: Lots of people with time in their hands thanks to the pandemic wanting to learn to play musical instruments, supplies of which have been impacted by factory shutdowns and other supply chain interruptions also due to the pandemic. These things are also largely made of wood, right? Lumber prices are up something like 193% over a year ago. Oh and let's not forget the trade wars before all this began...
